Re: FIX: Setting Up A 32 Team OFFLINE CFM Instructions

So just to confirm I've got this crystal clear - here's how I should start my offline CFM:

    1. Choose my team (Rams) and play as owner
    2. Set CPU progression to weekly or monthly (to help alleviate QB awr issues)
    3. Sim preseason as per normal
    4. Week 1 I create a new coach for the team I'm about to play (by pressing R3 if I'm correct?)
    5. Play the game and once the game is finished I retire the coach and then sim the rest of the week
    6. Repeat step 4 and 5

    Am I correct?
Any other settings I need to touch like auto subs?
Any tips for the LT sack issue?

When that was completed I created new coach (under my name so I had control of both) with Chicago Bears as thats the first week team the Pack plays. So instead of selecting all 32 coaches and fixing 32 rosters before even starting I am just doing it one game at a time so I can at least get a few games in. As long as you dont advance to next week you can just fix 2 teams at a time before a game, then by week 2 all rosters will be fixed. I Already have Pats Steelers updated and Depth charts done so that I can play that game the next time I play Madden
Thanks for the response reverend. I really was hoping it wasn't that involved to be honest.

I'll be giving this a try when I get some time. This franchise needs a season mode, for guys would just like to use real NFL rosters and depth charts.

Should not require this much manipulation of the game to achieve this IMO. Playing with inaccurate rosters and depth charts for season 1, just isn't my thing.

      Thanks again for your help.

Not sure what you mean, I'm definitely not going to play 64 meaningless preseason games to get to regular season.

Lastly is this for coach mode of GM and is there a difference?

          Thank you
I'm probably in the minority, but I set progression to end of the year, with all the bugs in cfm this year I just don't want to even mess with it. I only ever use coach, never done anything as owner, my understanding is in owner mode you deal with financial stuff, relocation and things like that. I have zero interest in that aspect of the game.

What I mean is make the cuts yourself for each team then sim the games. If you sim everything in preseason the cpu will make cuts you don't want unless of course its bugged.

If this is truly what I have to do this game is going to get traded in today. I don't have the time nor the inclination to do all that.

That is what I tried last night, I downloaded an accurate 53 man roster and imported that roster as the one to begin the cfm with. I double checked after the import and no extra players were added, no cuts should have even had to been made. unfortunately as soon as I simmed to regular season and checked, sure enough the rosters were pooched. If you sim anything in preseason, even if you have everything set to cpu off, and even if the rosters are properly filled out, the cpu will cut, trade, and resign players with zero input from the user, that is the entire problem and the reason why if this isnt fixed for next year I will be done with Madden. There is no escaping the cpu destroying the roster in preseason, end of story.

On Ps4 you have to click the right stick in when you are at your team screen, where you can play week, advance week etc. obviously you have to have selected your initial cfm team first, but then you can do it. Not sure about Xbox One

Going to try it out myself later on. Sounds bugged like its not recognizing that the team is a user team.

Yea I don't have that option at all. I may have missed something on the initial step.

That's what I've gleaned from all of this, your steps look right on the $$$ to me...

Auto Subs don't seem to work when applied to the other teams, but that's not definitive as of yet...

The LT sack issue has to be dealt with via QB edits in whatever roster you use for your CFM:

If you don't want to do 32 team control. I find setting up the 32 team control to be a lot easier. You do it once and you don't have remember to go through this hassle every week. To each his own.
Don't look back too long and don't look too far ahead.

I haven't seen one in season transaction. Teams with injuries aren't signing free agents and definitely no trades. If i'm using active owners do i put coach firing on with all the cpu teams?

This is pretty much what I do. Adds about 30 seconds of effort to each game week.
