No disrespect, but while they made a mode "for us", it's the same game from last year. They said that Madden 17 is essentially Madden 18 Sim. So while the game is "for us", it's a slightly updated version of last year, missing some of the key sim items that have been asked for.

Giving 3 different modes is great, but only if each mode is tuned differently and to the heart of that audience. I would imagine that Sim setting users want less than 12 sacks a game, more than 2 penalties a game, and the CPU QB to not go 21-24.

I wish I could find the quote from Rex but he said (Twitter) that the Sim "mode" is Madden 17 or something like Madden 17 was the closest to Sim setting.
Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

      I agree,
Just the fact that they've added a Sim Mode, is a step forward, now let's see how the build upon it from here!
I know they know how to fix these issues b/c they created them. Start w/ bringing back Tuck & Run.
Make dual threat qbs a headache to stop.

Of course, it's been this way since 2005. Once EA secured the license it was a wrap. To this day, 2K5 is still better than anything Madden has put out since.

No competition = a company being able to do the bare minimum and still be able to keep its base and market share. From 2K laying waste to EA over the years with NBA, one can only imagine the complete destruction of the latter if 2K had in fact been able to continue making NFL licensed games since 2005. It would be glorious!

And damn the NFL too for selling out the fans who are actual gamers just to put more money in their coffers, as if they needed it.

The NBA and MLB have not and have said they will not sell an exclusive license to a game company. Good for them. I hope the NFL, someday allows 2K to get back into the fold. We deserve it.

I know it's hard to do but we really need to stop worrying about what was or what could have been.

We're at a point now where we need to worry about what we have and what IT can become.

This isn't going to happen if we keep dwelling on the past. We really need to constructively add thoughts to the current state (good or bad) to add to the future.

People are frustrated spending $60+ every year for a "new coat" of nail polish on this game...... what it can become, I had my hopes up when xbox one came out seeing how it was a high powered platform.

Maybe don't spend the 60 bucks if it's just a new coat of paint.

Totally get that, it's the only NFL game in town and people need their "fix."

Here's the thing, better use of time would be productive time discussing the current state rather than lamenting on "what could have been" or "what was."

I've had my share of frustrations with Madden, I truly have, but it's important to remember that the state of NFL gaming is out of our hands.

Myself personally, I would rather help to contribute to what we currently have rather than worry about what could have been.

I buy the game because while it isnt perfect, Its solid enough to deserve my $60 each year. The year it wasnt, the first year of CFM, I didnt buy it.

If one year this community took a stand and said "We arent buying the game", I promise you they would take notice. Their sales wouldnt drop significantly but I promise you, EA would take notice and would put some of its focus on getting this community back.

I'm a huge UFC fan and there is only one MMA game for purchase. If that game spent version after version ignoring the additions that offline gamers want, I would quit being a gamechanger and never buy the game.

Its that simple. Dont buy the game or buy it used a week from now if things like the QB AI and Zone coverage issues are big enough deals. No one is forcing you to buy the game on release day. No one.
Not to sound negative but, it will never happen. I've waited for years for this community to take a stand and simply not buy Madden as a way to demand a better product.. You all continue to support and buy what they put out.

You all can complain and write how disappointed you are for any flaws the series may have but to them, it's a guarantee you all will purchase the game. I haven't played Madden since Madden 25. Before that, it was Madden 10. As hard as it has been to not play Madden the last few years, to play the game that I enjoy watching on Sundays, it was a given to not fall in line and spend $60 on an annual game. So now there's a story mode? As if that's not been done before (NBA 2K series). The frostbite engine is added to this year's game, yet, after watching a number of videos/streams, the players still run like robots. Tackling is terrible. You said if the community took 1 year to not buy the game, then it should start with you! Good luck!

I hit that same point. That is why I am boycotting Madden 18.

I wish more people did this. Butttt every year, people complain, shell out $60, and nothing is accomplished.

                    Then the cycle repeats.

You don't necessarily have to boycott it to get things in. You just have to keep suggesting it. For example Grab tackles sre finally in the game. I've been asking for that since last gen. Somebody myst have finally heard.

Boycotting buying the game is great and I truly mean it when I say that I applaud you for the effort but it's important to understand that it is something that has a minimal impact.

This entire site could bow out on buying the game and it wouldn't mean anything.

You have always been great about pointing out the positives AND the negatives in the right way so the truth is you could actually add more value to the future of the game by playing it and offering more feedback than not playing it.

This truly goes back to us all being in this together. If you don't want to spend the money on the game out of principle, that is perfectly understandable.

The truth is though, you are more valuable to the community if you've played the game rather than if you haven't.

Kehlis, that truly means a lot.

I accept that my $60 means nothing to EA. But to me it means something. I just can't justify giving this company my money when they neglect the only thing I play in it (Franchise).

I think the community does a phenomenal job at raising the standard for game play. However I do not need to play the game to share my opinion on what I think Madden needs to do for 19, or even going into the future.

What I truly care about, and voice my opinion about is CFM. That is why I applaud Deuce when he comes out with his brilliant mock-ups. That is why I will make up some mock-ups every now and then. However, with no new additions to CFM this year, my wishlist remains exactly the same as it was a year ago.

I am happy some people enjoy Madden 18. However, it is just not for me.

I will continue to post my wishlists, and chime my 2 cents in for new additions. But I am tired of rewarding this company my money, when they can't even reward me with a decent offline CFM addition for Madden 18.

Honestly, the only way I am going to play this game is when I borrow it from a friend after he gets bored of it.
