Lighting looks so phenomenal. How did they release that trailer? Ha. And it looks like they actually fixed the ball physics on spikes. Running animations look great too.

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Yeah. I’m actually enjoying the new rpm feel, but one thing that’s a little off - Clint said when u sprint, u swerve, when u just run (just using the left stick), u make more precise cuts. There’s a small problem with that, sometimes u do NOT want to cut. I’ve had a few times when im sort of trying to shimmy through a hole or maneuvering, in general (maybe a little left, right, left on the stick) and my player cuts, cuts, and cuts. Each one of those cuts is slower than a simple step, and ultimately, I get tackled quickly. I think holding the RB or LT buttons might alter that running. But, sometimes, you’re not thinking to press the button to make that small of a change. U just want the player to move a little, but instead u get a big cut.
Hopefully, this will become second hand. I like the different movement abilities they’ve added, and they’ve got some of them playing out realistically. Something I think they sort of removed kind of bugs me. They added the sprint spin a few years ago, I believe. And, it was fast and tight. I tried one today, and while I juked the defender, the spin was still ‘full’ and slower than I’d like while sprinting. I think they did change this a little. But, again, I think I can get used to it.

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Here is what works for me. Identify the strengths of your run blocking, including Finesse and Power. Pulling requires better Finesse, while zone inside requires power blocking, for example. So u want to understand what "types" of runs your OL can perform best. This is not like previous versions of the game where you can just run any play with any OL.
Also, do not forget to use the "ID Mike." Getting caught from the backside? Then when u run that play, ID Mike the backside defender.
It takes some practice using the ID Mike because it can vary from play to play. But practice running to the strong side of ur line (the side with your best run blockers) using plays the match your strengths, either power or finesse.
I was in the beta test. I spent a ton of time running the ball and testing how to work within the new mechanics. It takes patience, but once you get a scheme, it will be worth it.
The NFL has really become a two-back league. I think Madden is moving along with the shift in the NFL run mentality.Last edited by 4thQtrStre5S; 08-01-2018, 11:25 PM.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Yeah it's still same ole thing to me. Only way to get a good run is from shotgun. Everything inside shuts down immediately. Fournette was 7 carries 4yds lol. Yeldon had a nice game from handing him the ball in shotgun.
I have to say that I LOVE the new depth chart! Loved seeing the backup rbs get playing time without messing with auto sub crap. The DL rotates beautifully as well.
With some slider adjustments like others mentioned already this game is looking to be the best Madden yet. Nothing huge was changed this year. But they finally are fixing the little things in football that make a huge difference in whether it is a sim football experience or not.

THIS. Backside and downfield pursuit is sooo broken in Madden. Won’t be patched it’s been like that for at least 10 years lolComment

Nobody is saying you don't know what your talking about. Its just that many of us have had success running and its going to take more than one day to figure out running. Its not all suppose to come to you at once.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Each play or groups of plays has its nuances. Still, have to keep in mind your offensive line and their strengths.
I also found that refraining from drastic moves on the sticks, behind the line of scrimmage (LOS) helped me. Also, sometimes hitting the burst button behind the LOS was necessary.
I went into practice mode and started testing plays against base defenses. It was frustrating at first. I understand, but keep testing, the run plays will happen.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
My concerns in the running game are primarily the CPU’s inability to hit gaping holes on default AP, and the backside pursuit being ridiculous OP for both. I can run too, but not with a varied playbook. I have to cherry pick money running plays, and not utilize all my sets. Sliders/AM (for cpu) will be able to fix this, but I’d like to play default this year if at all possible. Sliderholeitus is something i suffer from.

I'm loving the running game this year, it actually takes some strategy to run the ball now. Noticed that some lower rated RB's take longer to burst off the line also.Youtube- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1Y...YHoeFjXQJ2Ps4g

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I like that I don't average 6ypc anymore. But the CPU cannot run the ball.. Default all pro and default all Madden, they average like 2ypcComment
