LOL, a self deprecating fan, you remind me of myself. I just made a joke in another thread about someone complaining about time management near the half and end of game in regards to Jason Garrett so..yeah I feel yaStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
User running game on All Pro is working well for me. Realistic yards per carry. Don't use sprint button until you get to second level. Be patient, tap those feet, find the hole, get mostly through it and then hit sprint. It's actually pretty satisfying. Some runs get stuffed in the backfield, and that's okay.
CPU run game is broken on default All Pro sliders. I stuff them 99% of the time even if I'm in a dime defense anticipating a pass. Even when they get a hole, the CPU jukes for no reason, which slows them down and they get tackled. Also had a time where the CPU gained like 4 yards but if they would have cut up field instead of running out of bounds, they would have had 15+ yard carry.Comment

No. Not for me or CPU. In my second game last night i averaged 1.2 ypc and the cpu averaged 1.5Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
The first few games in the beta the CPU and User(me) couldn't get anything going.
It took me about 3 to 4 days to learn patience, hit the hole and then use the sprint button once you get to the second level. The CPU hit some nice long runs on me as well.
18 and before, I couldn't muster a running game to save my life on AP sim, not touching th e sliders.Comment

It takes way more user input and patience this year. Past years you could just hold the sprint button down.Comment

I am talking from the beta side of things vs 18 and before.

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
It's not even about using patience.
There have been countless times in the few games I played I'm hit as I get the handoff. Or moments after. Situations where nothing can be done.
And the CPU run game is also horrid.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
That's a negative sparky. The raiders run defense was actually slightly above average last year (12th in the league or something like that). The pass defense is what killed us. Hence the reason almost every cornerback was let go.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I love hearing the disparity of opinions on the user run game; this is usually a good sign that there is a balance. While I haven't played the final release of the game; I can offer a few ideas to those having issues....
- Lay off the sprint button.
- Know your linemen. Know their strengths and weaknesses. If they are power blockers, I wouldn't suggest running a bunch of stretch plays. For CFM, use the scheme system to guide you in building your line with players who are better fits for the types of plays you want to run. If you like to run stretch plays, switch to a zone run scheme and get linemen who excel in that archetype.
- Make liberal use of 'ID the Mike', line shifts, flip play, and even the coach adjustments for holding blocks.

How’s that help the cpu run game?

It doesn't...which is why I explicitly referred to the USER run game in my post.
CPU run game, I have a hunch it's the imbalance between the MM and CFM injury sliders and/or people not turning off 'ballhawk' which is causing issues. I'll know more once I have the game next week.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

It’s the backside pursuits and instasheds being OP that’s causing the issues on both sides. The cpu run game issues are compounded because the cpu backs lack vision on AP. I’m 6 games in and the user can run using specific Madden “tactics”, but you run like an NFL team would with a consistent 4.2 ypc approach. It’s very feast or famine, and not dialed in. I’d wager the run game on both sides ends up being the main point of contention the first few weeks out of the gate, and ends up bringing patched by the devs. Right now I think I’ve remedied the cpu run game by moving up to AM and not switching on D.Comment
