Playing on a slow speed really brings out the beauty of this game, especially the running. It does not feel heavy/sluggish at all either. The reactions are better, the animations are better, it's just so good.

Now, very slow speed, that is sluggish and a bit too slow. However, slow speed is the best I've seen a football game move in a while.

Are you getting a decent running game from CPU with slow speed. A lot of people are complaining about the CPU run game and someone suggested kicking it up a notch to normal speed.

Turbo, hat counts, and reads now make running more similar to passing in the skill it takes to do it. I am a big fan.
It’s not 100%. There is sometimes a hitch, or, big delay in the hand off itself. You have no control over the ball carrier whom is standing still after the handoff. If that doesn’t happen then yea you need to read but half the time you don’t have a chance to make it past that hitch.

Yeah, if anything it's better. They wait for their blocks, hit the holes hard. The only thing is the game in general needs fatigue down 1 notch or 2 so the RB rotation is delayed slightly so the starter can get more reps. Simply dropping fatigue to 49 or 48 has helped this.

Not only was running with Kareem Hunt a blast last night, he even ran like the crazy violent runner he is, spinning and kicking out and breaking tackles.

I love the run game in Madden 19.

My hope is that there is some tuning in the launch day update that allows the CPU runners to be better at getting downhill when they have a crease and not juke, cut, or run laterally so often in those instances.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Well the update is live and they tuned runners acceleration. No sign of O-line tuning though which I thought was the issue.

The Launch Update will address CPU RB overuse of RPM and acceleration also improved. Hope that helps address the problem.

Hm i have problems with running game, both human & CPU. Bumped up the running block slider to 70 !! and still my running game sucks. ok, i'm no hardcore madden player, but running game is horrible for me.

another problem i have - there are way too many interceptions per game (CPU+human).

I'm not sure if i buy Madden 19 for fullprice. i only play offline and CFM is now a little more immersive (through halftimeshow and newly added background in menu), but still stale. CFM feels more like a "normal" season-mode. Developers must still add more important features like team-chemistry & player-morale. They need more passion and details for CFM!

Otherwise i like the graphics and gameplay overall. hmz

Isn't that what we see on NFL Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football?

I wasn't a fan at all the way the run game was before.

I had Demarco Murray at 6.5 yards a carry with Tennessee in CFM in 18, which I never really felt proud of. Glad to see it’s more realistic

Running the ball is going to be a challenge. This is going to be the year of the powerback and insidezone/power. Outside runs just arent happening that often. I dont know if I'm going to like this new RPM system. I generally dont like radical change. Hate having a huge learning curve and having to relearn everything you thought you knew. But I'll adjust. I think.

Agreed. There's too many outcomes in the run game that seem predetermined.

Average DL players, toss OL with better ratings aside to be in the backfield just as you're handing the ball off way too many times. Same thing happens in the passing game. Seems like there's a logic flaw somewhere along the OL. There's far too many instant pressures/TFL's/sacks. There's also nothing worse than having a hole, hitting it, and the OL who's got a perfect block just magically lets go of the defender who makes the hit right away. Defensive players just flow too quickly to the ball as if their momentum and cuts don't matter at all. It's just flawed that they arent affected the same way the ball carrier is by momentum and changes of direction

Combine that, with some instances (maybe it's specific plays?) where the RB is just stuck the second he gets the ball, it's like he just wont move or start on some plays.

Then it seems like anytime I do break one, there's a holding call. lol

Something seems missing in the run game to me. The more games I play, the more success I'm having, but it just doesn't feel anywhere near right to me, even after the recent update.

I feel you on the run game... Something just seems missing somewhere. DL seems to get to you way to fast on some plays and some of it is because once the ball is handed of the RB will sometimes get stuck and not move for a half second and that gives the defense enough time to get the back side and tackle you for a loss.

I am loving the run game. Can't just pick a play and expect it to work. Ran for 130 yards last night with Guice for Redskins. I play on AP but have the CPU tackle slider turned down to 30. Best game I've had so far. I'm starting to learn the controls and it's good. I'm actually really digging Madden this year. Huge 2k fanboy but this game is fun.

Anxious to try with new update but won't have time until later tonight.

Side note, how to double team cpu wideout? OBJ crushed me for like 140 yards and two scores. Lost 19-20 and blew my good game for Guice. Lol.

The issue is the AI running game is bad on another note because of the animations. When the CPU runs the ball regardless if it's your team or CPU team, when they try to do a juke or spin move or any kind of move they actually hesitate for a split second before doing the move.

It's almost like the player STOPS, does the move, then starts to run again, and by this time the defender is all over the runner.

It's a terrible mechanic and it ruins the AI running ability.
