Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I didn't see an amount of fumbles that got my attention, and Edgevoice is correct that the description for that slider suggests that higher values should yield fewer fumbles.
I was only able to play the 10 hour EA Access version, so maybe I'll notice something after more time with the game, but I didn't see anything concerning during the trial.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Yes. It's hard to even get the opportunity to put a move on someone to be honest. I'm going to mess around with it tonight. Maybe using small quick jukes in the hole work.
Also, has anyone tried the skill trainer yet? The first drill is RB VS LB where you are prompted to try different moves IE: Spin, Juke, Truck, Stiff arm ETC ETC. This is so difficult it took me over 20 times just to get bronze. I challenge anyone to go try this when they get a chance and let me know how they fare. I want to know what I'm doing wrong it makes no sense but either the defender never gets juked or it's "poor timing" then I'm literally getting a stiff arm animation on the defender.
Yeah, I’ve had trouble with this every year, actually. Lol. I don’t like madden’s timing window, honestly. They want certain moves done EXTREMELY EARLY, it freaks me out. I want to wait till I’m right on the guy to stiff arm. But, maybe, I want to do an early spin. The hurdle is ridiculous. U basically have to hurdle BEFORE the defender dives at u, so if this were real life, u wouldn’t even know the dude is going to dive and u just hop in the air hoping? Lol.
So yeah, the drills are kind of ridiculous. And then, when u actually time it right, u might still get tackled and miss getting gold or something. It’s actually kind of frustrating. Should be the easiest drill in there.

Zeroing out sliders this early in the year is worrisome to get a cpu rushing attack. The lack of cpu running is my #1 issue, and making the cpu way too easy to beat. Im trying different slider combos to find a solution. User ints are too easy too. Need the cpu to stop throwing me picks.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I'm about 3/4 way through my ea access trial, numerous games at this point and i'm pretty much at an empass with the game. So much I enjoy but the running issues are ruining it completely and will likely stop me buying the game.
I've turned CPU blocking to 70 and they can just about eake out 3 yards a carry with David Johnson on a good day, likewise i appreciate people talking about patience with the running game on offense but when 2 out of 3 runs get blown up within half a second of taking control, there's not much you can do quite honestly. It's at a point of almost being broken for me.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
For all the other people playing, how are you helping the cpu get a run game on AP? The amount of tackles for losses and backside pursuits have to be a mistake. Even with 75 cpu run block and 10 user tackle the cpu has no clue how to hit a hole, and the cpu runners keep one cutting in open and awkwardly run to defenders. Not sure how this isn't getting more play in the forum?Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Having good results (coach mode) with CPU run blk at 100 and Human tackle at 40
Still tweaking some though.
Note: Johnson was injured early in 1st quarter.
There's a happy place in the settings somewhere

You nailed it. Im trying AM with sliders to see if I can solve the cpu running game. Such a critical component of the game...Comment

Try post #3, lowering OFF holding to 48 in CFM.

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
It really bothers me that CPU running is never good on default sliders at launch on All-Pro and this year based off of videos I've watch it isn't good on All-Madden either. Not tuning the CPU runners to function well with RPM and the new running mechanics is not something that should have slipped through the cracks.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I'm a new player (last Madden I played was '13 on the Vita, and before that '08 on PC) and thus far I haven't had much success with running the ball at all. Either I get crushed in the backfield the moment the handoff takes place or I pick up 2 or 3 yards before being swallowed by the defensive line/linebackers. Sometimes the "push the pile" feature kicks in and I get an extra yard or two, but half the time it doesn't help me at all.
I'm sure it'll get a lot better as I gain experience, but this is easily the most difficult Madden game I've played to date when it comes to running the ball. Maybe that means mastering it will feel extra satisfying? I sure hope so.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I saw good results with CPU run block @65 and HUMAN tackle at 0. A lot of broken tackles though. Panthers ran for 230 yards on all pro, and I lost my first game (by 1 point). They had a 95 yard run though where Christian McCaffrey broke 6 tackles..Comment
