Feels like update #2 fixed some of the O-line issues of ignoring blocks and animation glitched⎛⎝DAWGS⎠⎞Comment

Yeah I’m in the same boat. Put it on rookie and cranked run block to 100. Not really seeing a discernible difference.
I have to wait to see if ea believe this is an issue and decide to patch or not.Comment

Whenever I play against Arizona, David Johnson has 2 or 3 50+ yard runs without fail.⎛⎝DAWGS⎠⎞Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Removing the break block slider was a bad move, as I see that as being part of the issue. However, I am also simply seeing block assignment mistakes, especially against 3-4 defenses, that sliders simply cannot fix. The latter is very surprising since Madden 17, which I played for 2 years, had very solid run blocking as long as you didn't spam the sprint button. I was amazed at the zone blocking and trap blocking improvements. Everybody did their jobs for both user and cpu.Last edited by edgevoice; 08-04-2018, 09:30 PM.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Playing a few more games and it is really weird but I can get a decent run game going with all my backs except for Christian Mccaffrey. It seems every time he touches the ball he is swarmed by 3+ defenders.
Anyone else notice anything like this?Comment

Yes. I've noticed this though for years in Madden. Swap one RB for another, and there's a noticeable change in the run game. For Miami, Drake vs Gore is a big difference this year, and their OVR's arent too far off.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Seems like the key to running this year is feathering the LS, i barely hold in the direction i want to go until i find a hole i want to hit.
It seems like this year, going full tilt with the LS triggers the defense to disengage and attack you behind the LOS similar to how hitting sprint did in the past.
Patience is a big rule in the run game this year.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
After playing over the weekend I am tempted to start a "Anyone find any semblance of a passing game yet?"
I can run the ball just fine most of the time but the passing, jeesh, on default all pro the CPU picks me off left and right if I throw any further than about 3 or 4 yards.
My wife said I just need more time with the game and she's probably right but I'm tempted to turn down the INT slider a little as the DB's catch everything thrown even close to them..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
I don't really understand running to this point. The game is clearly new and in time it will make sense but there's a few issues I have personally.
If I hold speed burst and up I can gain 3 yards.
If I don't hold speed burst the defenders will usually block shed and hit me in the backfield.
When I take the hand off if I hold left or right it feels like I'm fighting my running back to gain control. Perhaps certain runs there's specific ways to move as I constantly feel like I'm fighting my running back as the CPU is deciding where he is going to go.Comment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
Yes. It's hard to even get the opportunity to put a move on someone to be honest. I'm going to mess around with it tonight. Maybe using small quick jukes in the hole work.
Also, has anyone tried the skill trainer yet? The first drill is RB VS LB where you are prompted to try different moves IE: Spin, Juke, Truck, Stiff arm ETC ETC. This is so difficult it took me over 20 times just to get bronze. I challenge anyone to go try this when they get a chance and let me know how they fare. I want to know what I'm doing wrong it makes no sense but either the defender never gets juked or it's "poor timing" then I'm literally getting a stiff arm animation on the defender.Comment

Try power runs, they seem to open up decently well between the guard and tackle with a chance to cut to the outside on the second level.Follow me on Twitter @T4VertsComment

Re: Anyone find any semblance of a running game yet?
There are reads to be made this year for sure. Sometimes the best you can get on a play that hasn't gone as planned is to put your head down and run into the pile for 2 yards, similar to a check down in passing. I have found a lot of success watching for the backside cutback, and when it opens hitting the one cut into the backside hole.

Thank you. I've had success with 01 Traps and it's likely just getting more familiar with the game. I plan on going into practice mode tonight and running each type of run 100 times with different variables on my end to see what seems to work and what doesn't based on my input.Comment
