Sorry I didn't post last night it was late. I don't have all the stats but I remember pretty well what happen. I lost 31-17 to the Bengals, I gave them a balanced playbook. They had a really good mix of run and pass, but they did most of their damage through the air.

BJGE had around 20 carries but it was only for 65 yards or so. I threw two INT's and had a really hard time moving the ball. That could be because of the sliders only the second game I have used them.

Hope to get a game in tonight, not sure but if I do I will let you know how it goes.

Chargers (me/balanced) vs Bengals (cpu/pass balanced)

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM

Wow. I just went through this entire thread and it's amazing. I had noticed the playcalling wasn't optimal but I've still been really enjoying my games but this will probably take them to a completely new level.

It really goes to show how much they dropped the ball on this one. What I don't understand is why any team only has but 20(?) or so plays available to call on 1st down and such. I wonder how many plays in each teams playbooks have zero chance of ever being called and are essentially wasted space.

It really is a shame that custom playbooks/gameplans aren't an option because this game would be ridiculous when paired with the communities insight in something like this.

Alright, enough with the sulking. Anyways, I'm in the middle of my second season currently and after reading this thread I'm sold on using this system at the start of my next season. I think what I'm going to do is go through each team at the start of every season and basically assign them a playbook based on a combination of their personnel and their coach.

          Once again, AMAZING thread!

You have to turn the second controller on (during a CCM game), go over to the cpu team, choose advanced settings and change the playbook, then back out and put the controller back to the middle (cpu). You can't leave the 2nd controller as human controlled before you start your game.

It looks like you have a PS3. When it goes to the team select screen, assign controller one to two, go to the CPU team and change their playbook, then reassign your control to one and pick your team.

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM

I'll chime in on one of the playbooks. I started a CCM as the Dolphins, went back to default All Pro sliders for now, 13 minute quarters with 20 second run off.

First game, Texans ran the ball 39 times and threw it less than 20 (I think it was 18). And their running game went nowhere, and I eventually just started calling the Run Middle defense to see if they would change. 1st down, run, 2nd down, run, 3rd down, pass. So boring.

They were up 14-10 most of the game, but still, should have varied their approach more.

In the actual Dolphins/Texans game this year, where the Texans killed the Dolphins, they threw it 31 times, with RBs getting 31 carries.

I left it on the Texans playbook, and I wouldn't do that again. Just my experience, since the first post still lists Texans as a possible playbook.

Game is fine overall, but without this trick, I would stop playing. The CPU playbooks are so boring...I feel like something is just really messed up.

Default all-pro isn't good at all for the running games imo. The user running game has been way too good since the patch and the cpu running game still needs help. I honestly would never use any of the team playbooks other than the Lions or you get that boring, scripted feeling of cpu predictability.

On the other hand, I played an exhibition game with the Giants against the Packers and gave them Run N Gun. Rodgers threw 36 times (11 minute quarters) and had 4 TDs passing. So much better. He also had this nifty scramble and pass. I rarely remember the cpu QB scrambling and then throwing. Usually when they scramble it's tuck and run.

Oh completely agree on the running game...I just wanted to see how the patch would affect my own skill level, but obviously on All Pro, I'll need to lower all my run defense sliders.

Agreed, and I wouldn't even give anyone the Lions playbook. They all seem fundamentally flawed in some way. The only tangible disadvantage of going with generics for CPU teams is that you lose wildcat and other team specific formations and plays.

The Rodgers scramble throw looked great! I agree that run n gun works well for them.

Has there been anything definitive regarding Legend books or should I plan to just stick with the generics for CPU when I can FINALLY play again?

I'm currently testing B. Walsh for the Texans and J. Madden for Oakland.
With 1 tweak to the All-Madden default

I like the improvments to All-Madden Patch 3. I don't feel cheated, even though the CPU can take over a game if your not careful, yet smart with your play.

Am I correct in understanding that before following playbooks are the only ones that can be used? Because only they have a star system that is set up correctly?

                            -Balanced (Balanced)
                            -Run Balance (Favors Run)
                            -Pass Balanced (Slightly Favors Pass)
                            -Run and Gun (Favors Pass)

Run and gun has wildcat..GB just used it on me by benson running jet fake pass for TD..
