Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
Playing against the Bills using Run Balance a few times and Fred Jackson throws the ball from the Wildcat at least twice every game but im willing to deal with that if it will give me better CPU playcalling which it hasComment

Every time I come in here I see this thread and it makes me smile! haha Amazing what a community of Average Joes can do when they put their heads together! Only wish Tiburon would show this kind of dedication...Keep it up guys! Im gonna borrow a friends Madden and see how much of a difference this really makes for myself!Comment

Agreed, and I wouldn't even give anyone the Lions playbook. They all seem fundamentally flawed in some way. The only tangible disadvantage of going with generics for CPU teams is that you lose wildcat and other team specific formations and plays.
The Rodgers scramble throw looked great! I agree that run n gun works well for them.
Vermiel's playbook favors the pass and is pretty aggressive. i let the Chiefs use it and they were going deep quite often.
personally im gonna give the Colts and maybe the Bengals Vermeil's playbook.
Brian Billick's playbook is good to use as well. more conservative. lots of singleback stuff, quick passing plays like screens and dump offs were used quite often. think Run Balanced with this playbook
im gonna give this playbook to the Vikings."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
yea but will they take psn cards

you probably missed but earlier in the thread i posted a cpu vs cpu game i watched using Dick Vermiel's playbook vs Brian Billick.
Vermiel's playbook favors the pass and is pretty aggressive. i let the Chiefs use it and they were going deep quite often.

Also, I was wondering if those books passed the "star test" of having the CPU call plays more like the generic books and NOT like the team specifics do...
I noticed Walsh and Gibbs have no Gun forms, so I'm pretty sure that rules those two out...everyone runs at least some gun these days, correct?
The Lombardi is too "old skool" / antiquated
So off the top of my head, that only leaves Landry (which I'm betting is balanced) and Madden (pass balanced / vertical?)...
Oh, and Flores...not sure what category that book falls under or if it's usable for this...
Anyway, thanks for the further clarification of your experience / insight into Vermiel (the book I'M going to use as my created HC) and Billick...Last edited by KingV2k3; 10-25-2012, 02:54 PM.Comment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
Every year something ruins this game for me. Last night i was playing the jets and they ran 3 straight times in the red zone. All 3 were for losses...so the last one they ran up the middle on 3rd and 14. Unbelievable. I had to turn the game off its so frustrating...takes the immersion right out of the game.
How EA can release a game that has such a fundamental flaw is just unreal. And it seems like it would be so easy to fix. But nothing....they know about it, but JUST DONT CARE. Thanks guys! Hope you are enjoying my 60 bucks.
Oh well...ill have to buy another controller and give this a shot. Sigh.Last edited by treq21; 10-25-2012, 01:42 PM.Comment

The person that told me about it was on PS3, not sure if that matters.Comment

Oh yeah, I saw these posts but was wondering if anyone had experience with the other Legend books as well...

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
I think Lombardi's is out due to the era it is meant to reflect and the Walsh and Gibbs books have no Gun forms, so I'm discounting those as well...
Do you have any thoughts on Madden / Flores / Landry?
Are they usable and if so, what type of generic would you classify them as closest to?
Continued thanks!Comment

So in your opinion Vermeil is closest to "Spread" and Billick is "Run Balanced", right?

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
I think once you start getting more seasons in to CCM there may be less to mess with because of the influx of some of the fake coaches. I just played the Jets in season two of my CCM and they have a new fake coach and they seemed to play differently than most teams and I'm almost certain it's because they get assigned one of the generic playbooks.Comment

Did you assign him a book based on that or Ryan's former scheme?
Thanks!Comment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
I didn't change anything. I should have taken a peek at what playbook he was running before the game started but I didn't. I checked out the coach though and his scheme was Balanced so I'm guessing they were using the Balanced playbook. They were up pretty much the whole game and still threw it 39 times compared to 29 runs.Comment
