Yeah....I used the two controller method. I slide the second controller over, make the changes and slide it back to the center. I've done it this way before and also changed the uniforms. The uniform changes take effect, so I guess it would be safe to say that the playbook changes would also take effect.....who knows...nothing would surprise me.

If you're doing an offline CCM and you change the computer's playbook before a game, does anyone know if it stays changed for the season or will it revert back to the old one after the game?Comment

It reverts to whatever is the default "team specific" playbook attached to that team's head coach...Comment

I don't know how or why this works but it definitely does. Makes Madden so much more enjoyable. Kudos to everyone involved in this. I wish EA would admit to a problem in play calling.Comment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
They finally did after constantly stating they were "looking into it". It's doubtful anything gets fixed for this year although in year 3 of my franchise the default playbooks are being used a lot better. I have no idea why I'm seeing better play calling now but I'll take it.Comment

I HATE that play."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

So if the issue is teams running the ball too much, couldn't you just leave the default playbooks for running teams. Like Jacksonville or Seattle.Comment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
I've resisted using a workaround to an issue I feel/felt EA was capable of fixing. But with it being damn near January, it's probably a safe bet that M13 has seen its last patch.
I say that to say that I've played two games using the playbook workaround listed in the OP. I have to say I was largely pleased w/ the results. I'm not sure how long this satisfaction feeling will last, but this workaround has at least breathed some life back into the game for me.
Unfortunately, I still did see the CPU resort to a draw play on 4th and 19 in their own territory w/ the game on the line. But in my next game against the Seahawks, they wisely ran the ball with a two score lead.

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
I've been using team specifics when possible, but when facing the 2015 Lions, I decided to not risk using their default and gave them Pass Balanced...
35 passes / 25 runs
400 yards of total offence
17 point 4th quarter led to a come from behind win for them
10 catches by Megatron for around 100...
VERY well played and well called game by them...
I'm finding the only team books that NEVER seem to work are the West Coast ones:
OAK / MIN / PHI / MIA being the main offenders...
Those books still seem to be kind of run / run / pass as the years play out, whereas the other schemes, books and coaches seem to adapt better from season to season...
It remains an "inexact science", but when you pair the right book with the right team / scheme / personnel / HC the gameplay really lights up!
