Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I have hopes that they will be releasing a prototype build of a football title in development.
I really want them to shock the sports gaming world and announce the game we hope for this year. Time will tell... If they don't announce it this year I will basically lose hope for any 2K Football ever again.
Also, there's no reason to lose hope for 2k or any other football game not named Madden. This is the first time in ten years that we can reasonably hope for a Non-EA football game as the license is not likely not exclusive anymore. Before, nobody could make an NFL football game, and companies obviously had no desire to make non-licensed football games.
Putting all pessimism and optimism aside, with the popularity of the NFL, I find it hard to believe that no other company would be interested in putting out an football game.Comment

I hope the NFL will see passed the other stuff and open things up and see that its best for buisness.Comment

Honestly, I don't see them merely announcing a prototype for a game in development. I could be wrong, but if they announce anything, it would be a games that's releasing in August. Why announce, at E3, that you have a game in development that will come out no sooner than a year from now ? Any splash that is generated from that will surely die down, and a lot of people may not even care since 2k's last game was seven years ago, and their last NFL game was ten years ago. Only the hardcore football gaming community remembers 2k5. Ten years might as well be thirty years.

Companies announce games that come out way later all the time. It wouldn't be unpressidented. Even if they don't have a game until next year it's still good to get the buzz going. Because of basketball 2k sports are well known. It would get people talking. Also there are other games conferences after E3.Comment

Games do this all the time. Look at Watch Dogs and The Division. It's to build up hype. Take away some Madden pre-orders from next year, I don't know. Get people ready.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
I just hope 2K or anyone else announces a sim style football game at E3. At this point I don't care if it's NFL licensed or not. Long as it's highly customizable and we are able to easily upload/share rosters, uniforms, and most everything else. The NFL seems to be too controlling over it's game anyway, wouldn't be surprised if 2K didn't even want to work with them because of that.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
Just to break up monotony of the back and forth. I have seen folks say they could use the teams but not players.
How great would it be if the NCAA allowed this and 2K was the first game with both NFL and NCAA on the same disc and they intertwine. No real players all left up to the user to create.
I know it wouldn't happen but sure would be nice.Texas A&M Aggies

If that happened I'm almost positive the guy over at FBGratings.com would do a roster that could be downloaded. He's said if 2k did a football game then his rosters would be for that game instead of Madden.Comment

Doesn't mean that 2K is doing the same thing, but it shows a bit about how some companies are choosing to connect long before release.Comment

Yeah, that does happen. I remember The Division breaking in early 2013, and the game is not due until late 2015. They also had an E3 showing in 2013.

I hope you know, what I mean^^Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
Reading some of these posts about how gaming studios have been known to present things at E3 really got me pondering more about what Simfball said. It seems reasonable, given what 2k/VC already has foundation wise with NFL2k/APF2k, that they could present an upgraded generic football demo at E3, to generate buzz, as well as entice the NFL to want to brand it.
Think about it, there is really no risk to 2k/VC in doing this. Either enough buzz and hype are generated to entice the NFL to want to brand/license it or for 2k/VC to release it generic or neither. Either way, 2k/VC is no worse off in relation to football gaming than they have been since 2005, by pulling this stunt.Comment

Re: NFL 2k COMEBACK? License not exclusive?
All right, I usually try hard not to bite into hype like this, but this sandwich looks too real. I watched one of hiphopgamer's video's (no I don't find him as a reliable source, but this was interesting). He talked with Peter Busch of Faceware Technologies, the company that does the face scans and such for 2K Sports. HHG asked Busch if these technologies could possibly be used for a 2K football game, Busch immediately replied that he could not saying anything referring to that or what 2K does. Probably just an NDA, but I found it interesting. Then, we have an earlier poster tweeting to Ronnie2K, asking if football fans had reason to be excited with 2K. No response as far I know. And from my experience, if the answer is no when it comes to guys like Ronnie2K, they'll straight up say no. My brother for example messaged Tony Shoupinou, a community manager for Bandai Namco regarding the length of some Dragon Ball Z game and whether it included GT or whatever about two years back. Shoupinou responded, giving the game's length and why. Now, different rules and things vary for different companies, but it is not unheard of for these guys to answer no to questions. The same as it is not unheard for them to stay silent if the answer is yes or no. Rant over.
Do I think we'll see 2K at E3? No. Is it definitely possible? Yes.Comment
