She's right. I'd rather the NFL (all sports really) just pay homage to things like breast cancer and defer to the courts on non-football related "crimes" for this very reason. We all know they don't really care, they just want more money and to gain female viewers. They can't hide the hypocrisy in today's media age.

I feel its the same territory of culture that a lot of stories went with regarding Matt Barnes and Derek Fisher of the NBA.

Yes, the NFL in general tends to be made up of hypocrites.
Yes, Greg Hardy is probably a poor human being.

But there was nothing wrong with any of the comments he made. We live in an age where some people have to be offended by something.

              Holy dang.

While FanDuel ran more ads last year, its rival has had the clear edge in 2015. DraftKings spent $131.4 million on ads for a total of 40,283 national airings. Last year, its ads ran just 8,743 times.

Over the same period, FanDuel spent $74.5 million for a total of 21,545 national airings, up from 14,017 in 2014.

I've never really understood what was fun about dropping cash on 1 week fantasy leagues, but clearly a ton feel differently and have no problem throwing insane cash at those companies. One time I put up $100 to play in a year long fantasy league with friends, and even then I felt like a dope.

Legal definitions aside, it is gambling. Some find it fun, while others don't understand the fun at all.

From all I've read since the season started its basically a ton of hardcore gambler sharks taking money from scrubs. Dudes have hundreds of teams playing to hit it big. I don't really care if people waste their money gambling at all but the ads are so annoying.

Typically I'd agree with you, or at least your last sentence. But in Hardy's situation, you'd have to remove all context from the situation to suggest what he said was ok.

Actually, I don't even think it's what he said, so much as the fact that he's the one who said it. It's indicative of someone who doesn't get it, or doesn't care. And I'm not really sure what's worse. I mean, he literally is just getting off a suspension for some pretty heinous ****.

I don't give it long til this dude's out of the league. I'd say the sooner the better, but unfortunately that would probably be at the expense of someone else.

So if Peyton Manning made the same exact comments it would be okay?

I cannot agree with that. The comments are either inappropriate or not.
But Hardy has gotten into trouble where guns were involved so he can't make gun analogies? Or because he got in trouble with domestic violence he can never again mention women?

That's the reason why the whole set up of Fan Duel and Draft Kings is either going to change radically or be so heavily regulated that it's not the same. For the sake of protecting the average joe and the whole gambling aspect of it the regulatory bodies and justice department is going to bring the hammer down.

The fact that these two companies went super crazy with the ads and people noticing how much insider trading for lack of a better term is going on will be their downfall.

Greed is good....only if you can get away with it.

It would still be in poor taste. And if Peyton was making comments about Brady's wife, joking or not, it'd still get play in the media.

Greg Hardy can say whatever he wants. But considering his circumstances, he'd probably be wise to think more carefully about it before he does speak.

I'm not offended by what Greg Hardy said. I just think it's that much more outrageous that he's the one who said it.

I just think his comments are getting blown out of proportion because of his recent legal troubles. I would agree that he should have chosen his words more carefully, but not because what he said was inherently wrong.
