NFL Fines Stafford For Blue Shoes

Matthew Stafford was fined for wearing blue cleats on Monday Night Football, and he has no idea why. The Detroit Lions quarterback said they are the same cleats that former teammates Ndamukong Suh and Reggie Bush wore last season. He also wore them during the preseason without a problem.
Stafford wore a pair of black cleats the first three weeks of the regular season, but tore them against the Broncos and went with the blue ones Monday against Seattle.
There's a staffer who checks out everyone's apparel during warmups to ensure they meet league specifications, and no one said anything to Stafford about being in violation of the policy.
Then he got a FedEx from the league this week, announcing he'd been fined $5,787.
Stafford not only plans to appeal the fine, but he also packed the shoes in his game bag for Sunday's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Must be good to be an NFL quarterback.
Good stuff. Let's make sure the officials face no penalty, and instead get Staff for his shoes. SOL

      Please, continue defending the guy:

One day after the first Sunday of the 2014 season, TMZ published a Ray Rice video that shook the NFL to its foundation.

        NFL Off Topic

        Crappy video and horrible delivery.

Should stick to Football and leave Rap for the who actually got the talent to do it.

Hardy just seems to be an idiot. Even if he's innocent of all the allegations and charges against him, he does nothing but destroy his personal brand with all of his actions. The second he gets injured or stops sacking the qb, he's done. No opportunities to do anything to provide for his family the way he could if he did the right things.

            Per ProFootballTalk

Sean Payton signed an extension with the Saints early in 2013 that runs through the 2017 season and pays him $8 million a year, but that’s apparently not going to stop other teams from looking into his availability once the 2015 season comes to an end.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Dolphins, whose decision not to sign Drew Brees helped Payton to a Super Bowl win, are expected to inquire about bringing Payton to Miami as their next permanent head coach. Schefter reports that they would have company from multiple teams in any Payton pursuit, with the Colts mentioned as a possibility since Chuck Pagano has no contract beyond this season.
Because Payton is under contract, the Saints would be entitled to compensation in exchange for letting Payton go to work for another NFL team. Payton would also be making a decision about where to go, of course, and it’s hard to imagine that he’d go somewhere without a quarterback in place that he thought could lead the team the way Brees has led the Saints over the years.
Throw in the fact that the Dolphins are the only team with a definite coaching search on the horizon and those are a lot of moving parts to figure out before making a guess about where Payton will be come the 2016 season. If there’s enough interest all around, though, the first big move of the offseason could be a trade of a coach.

Pretty good deal for Payton. Skip town as the Saints are about to go through a pretty major rebuilding, and slide in somewhere they're already set up to win. I wonder if he'll do it.

I don't really see any team that's going to be without a coach having the tools for quick future success unless the Colts indeed get rid of Pagano. That's the wild card indeed. If Indy is without a coach I bet that's the place Payton would go. I don't think he wants to put himself through the trouble of being in the same division as the Pats and I don't really see Tannehill ever being a franchise QB.

I feel like every time I see Demarco Murray get a carry for the Eagles they have him running sideways to start. It makes no sense to me.

There's no thread for this game but my goodness....The Bills are playing some sorry *** football. Thank goodness for Tennessee having a rookie QB and the defense being stout under the circumstances.

OMG! What a win by the Bills! I still can't believe it.

BTW Mariota looked pretty good today but there were times where he clearly looked like a rookie. He threw some balls rather tentatively and at some points threw the ball too quickly for his receivers to even get to the intended spot. That INT at the end wasn't his fault though Dareus got a hit in just as he was throwing the ball and Gilmore made a great catch.
