Meh, nobody here is going to look that deep into the name.

The whole process has been a sham and a mess, but I doubt most folks here will think of that. You’ll have a vocal minority online that’ll think of that but the majority of folks will have an issue with the name because it’s lame.

Yeah, the name if nothing else is just incredibly lazy.

I honestly would keep Washington Football Team. In major American sports that is a unique branding. Commanders, but using the same colors and assets? Meh.

Of the unofficial options presented (I don’t think this was among the actual final eight names) I think I preferred Red Tails, but I also knew that was disqualified at the outset because no knowledge I have about Dan Snyder suggests he is a forward thinker or good at business.

I just GOT used to calling them WFT(saying Woof’T)and I’ll probably still continue calling them that.

Commanders just gives off Big “The Replacements(the Movie)” energy.

Commanders just sounds so generic and boring. At least with Hogs there's some history. I would have loved RedHogs, Warhogs, etc.

Forunately, the league is moving on from some of the more heinous uni designs (the old TB and Cincy looks, some of the goofy Browns stuff)

I'd like the Rams to lose the round font and fade on the number...

But this new Redskins look is...way too NCAA.

Changing the name doesn't require changing an iconic look. I think it would be well-received if they'd put the new "logo" on the old helmet and left the Unis largely untouched.

As is, this is too much of a "Disconnect" from the past and traidition...the goal would be to have everyone rally and purchase this new gear...but they didn't read the room very well; I don't think many fans at all were interested in a complete overhaul.

The fact that there are STARS on the jersey anywhere is comical.
