HS football is also not huge in many places. Thursday games dont really bother me, but moving the games to Fridays wouldnt bother me either.

NFL probably trying to avoid airing television on fridays for the same reason other networks avoid new television on fridays.

The Bucs are approaching a mess comparable to the Jets of the past couple years.

Yes that's what I was going for. I also don't like having games during the week just thought strictly from a rest, game planning, execution standpoint of the game it would fit better on Fridays than on Thursday or earlier.

but yes I can see the point of providing the courtesy towards possible future players, employees of the NFL by not scheduling games in their timeline. As High School, NCAA are the pipeline from which the Pros draw from.

I honestly thought just having games on Sunday, and Monday was perfect why they had to mess with that I don't know.

Money. Stand alone game being shown on their own network in prime time. But yeah, money. It always comes down to money.

And that is why I side with the players when they complain about the Hypocrisy of Roger Goodell and the league, when they say they are out for the "best interests of Player Safety". If Player Safety, and not Money was their #1 concern they would not make them play games on Thursdays with 3 days rest, and there would definitely not be any talk about expanding the Schedule to 18 games.

Wansn't aware the NFL became a charity. Within the next couple years the Thursday package will bring in billions, half of which goes to the players, btw.

That's probably (definitely) true too. But seriously don't underestimate how big HS football is where it is big. "Friday Night Lights" rivals "Monday Night Football" in many entire towns.

Don't really care, from a fan's perspective I think TNF sucks. It feels like more of a chore than an event, the quality of the game is usually worse, the players appear to be more at risk, and it takes enjoyment away from all the other things that make the NFL fun to follow (picks, survivor, fantasy) bc of the rush for a turnaround.

Nobody will argue against you if you want to come from the side of the owners wanting to make money, but we're here talking from our perspective... and I doubt any of us plan on boycotting or anything. It's not that serious, but I'd be much happier if we just went back to Sunday and Monday until later in the season.

The NFL has dragged their feet in regards to player safety for YEARS. It's nice that it's being fully documented and disclosed.

BTW this book is in association with that Frontline documentary that ESPN pulled away from being associated with.

This sums up how I feel perfectly about the TNF situation.

I understand it's another way to try and expand revenue, and get more national exposure for various teams; but we've had enough of a sample of Thursday night football to see the quality of the games are poor. It feels rushed and honestly kind of inconvenient and of place to have a game in the middle of the week.

Pretty much the NFL is going to be successful and make money in any number of ways; that doesn't mean that everything that makes them money is what's right for the players/fans.. (i.e Multiple games through out the week, expanded season, multiple games played Overseas)

After Sunday's horrible performance, Matt Flynn isn't even good enough to be Raiders backup anymore. Matt mcgloin took 2nd team reps in practice today.

I'm sure the Packers fans would love to take him off your team's hands.

Still can't believe Two teams made the mistake of giving Flynn a starters contract based upon One good game, against a terrible secondary with a top notch cast of receivers. Yeah he held the fort down in Green Bay for a few games when Rodgers had the concussion; but I think we now know that was a fluke.

                          Man he's made a killing.
