The NFL is finally adapting a college football rule rather than the reverse.

Its meh. Just dont be a dick like Tate was when you're about to score.

I don't even think taunting should be a penalty at the professional level. Everyone is collecting a check here. Suck it up.

Where do we draw the line? Is high-stepping into the end zone a "taunt"? What if THOSE touchdowns are called back?

        Pussified garbage.

I hate Golden Tate. Absolutely hate him and wished he'd get KTFO.

That being said, I have no issue with what he did. Don't want him to do it? Don't let him score. Just a BS rule like their celebration rule. The NFL needs to stop taking itself so seriously. It's a bunch of grown men making an assload of money to play a child's game.

I think they don't want to spread the idea that that behavior is tolerable in their league. Yes they are all grown men, and yeah grown men should be able to suck it up (I mean **** every week i see other teams doing Cruz's TD celebration against the Giants just to rib us as we lose by 40pts). But in the grand scheme of things, and the image the league wants to spread; I get it.

You want your league to look like a bunch of *******s doing ******* stuff all day long, or do you want good sportsmanship at every possible level of your product?

And what is the celebration rule you mentioned?

I don't have a problem with the penalty, but to negate a TD solely because of its celebration is comical to me.

They changed their rule so if the ref thinks a celebration is directed at an opposing player (so if someone sacks the QB and the ref thinks some sack celebration is directed at the QB) it's a penalty. There were a couple other minor changes as well I believe.

I think all the celebrations are silly (I often yell towards Jermichael Finley for celebrating actually catching a ball) but let them do it. I think that's something the players themselves should police.

I don't see leagues in Europe whining when a player does something after they score a goal.

Its not like its a problem, though. How often does that happen to the point that not only does it deserve a penalty, but seemingly deserves more punishment?

Fine the player. Tack on 15 yards to the kick-off. Take away the team's score? Bull****.

What's next though? You can't take all of the emotion out of the sport. Yeah guys shouldn't be douches, but at the same time aren't those celebrations helping bring attention to the league, mostly in a good way? Things like what Tate did are usually the exception and not the rule.

Players that get flagged for it at that point would be really really dumb then. This isnt exactly an unavoidable penalty (if it were one that is).

Players can taunt, but the taunted get one free late hit to be used on the taunting player at any point during the remainder of the game.

Kind of like a slap bet.

                          Problem solved.

Think about the Children and future generations, guys. Because they're the ones that matter, right? We can't have Little Bobby doing the Jared Allen after he gets a sack. Or little Jermaine doing the Salsa everytime he scores a TD.

                            ****ing Ridiculous man.

                              FYP?

The two celebrations you actually mentioned would be fine?

The Jared Allen one could be if he were to have his knee touching the ground everytime he did it.

Matter of fact, isn't the reason the Rams stopped doing their "Bob N Weave" End Zone celebration(when they were relevant)was because the league threatened to fine them if they continued it? And that was one of the most harmless celebrations out there, even though it involved more than one person.
