Ahh, I picked those locations, because in my mind they are still present teams with some run pass options. Maybe not so much from the 7, but I also want to see some stops, and watch coaches make the decisions. Do you go for the three point try right before half-time if you are getting the ball to start the second half?

If given the option between an outspoken Chris Kluwe and a silent Chris Kluwe, an NFL team would take a silent Chris Kluwe every single day of the week. May it have contributed to him being released? Maybe. Was it why he was released? Color me skeptical.

Just another one of Kluwe's valiant efforts though. Dude hasn't met a fight he doesn't like.
I was skeptical.....until I heard Priefers denial. And he made one comment in particular that now makes me believe Kluwe is telling the truth.

Might be sour grapes from Kluwe, but they're legit. He wanted to expose the cowards and the bigot, and he did.

Should've kept his mouth on your side, Vikes. Lol

His position coach's behavior is unacceptable. I know we live in a PC world where you can't say certain things, but this coach went waaaaay over the edge multiple times. It's one thing to use homophobic slurs, it's another to go into graphic detail the fate of the people you detest and their supporters. It's scary how in detail this coach was going to prove his disgust with other people's sexual orientation.

I love how he called out Frazier about doing the right thing and all that. It's one thing to say it, it's another to act it. I know Frazier was in a tough spot, I'm sure all he wants is his football players to play football. But Kluwe isn't just another football player, he's noted as being very social media friendly. Vikings could've taken the opportunity to take a stand with their punter, instead they tried to bury him and now they're getting called out for it.

I know we all say owners should stay out of football affairs, but Mr. Wilf should've stepped in and voted down whoever decided to cut Kluwe. Lets not be naive, he got cut because of his mouth. All things equal, they went with the quieter option. The Vikes were lucky to have a player with integrity who sticks up for what he believes in in a constructive, informed manner. Now they just end up with egg all over their face.

Both NFC MATCHUPS This Wild Card Weekend feature teams with
better records on the road then there opponents.

NFL owners have taken notice of the inequity.

Among the "multiple ways" in which the
NFL has examined potential adjustments to the playoff system, spokesman Brian
McCarthy said Thursday there has been discussion of letting the team with the
superior record host games even if they gain entrance to the postseason as a
            wild card.

"Every scenario has been discussed, ranging from reseeding to one extra game,
expanding from 12 to 14 teams," McCarthy said. "Think of a scenario, it's been
            discussed and remains in play."

A potential holdup is that some clubs have "raised the concern that reseeding
would minimize the value of winning a division; winning a division now means a
            guaranteed home playoff game."
This is interesting. I kind of like the format now but understand where the argument can be made for teams that are in a divison where the winner is 14-2 and there 13-3 and a wild card forced to visit a team who won there division with a 9-7 record. Maybe this falls into the bracket of should we just eliminate divisions and have just the AFC and NFC?

You'll have no choice but to get rid of Divisions because they'll be no real incentive to winning it.

Sadly, this is so true. As a business man and owner, Jerry is doing a fantastic job. His stadium is a marvel, his team is one of the highest grossing in the world, and his brand is known all over the world. The team stays average, but "the show" is always prime time worthy. Unfortunately for us fans, "the show" has now become a nightmare and is gut-wrenching.

....except for the whole playoff spot thing. There's an entire thread about that silly hypothetical though.

                        If anyone cares to listen:

Kluwe was on the radio in Minneapolis this morning. Very interesting back and forth with Kluwe and Ben Leber, who are friends and used to room together on the road.

                        The interview starts around 35:10

Have you ever sat outside for 3.5 to 4 hrs with wind chills expected to be 50 below 0? Within 10 minutes, frostbite can occur.

I said in this thread yesterday that I wouldn't pay for an NFL ticket, but I would go to a game if I got a free ticket.

I would not go to a game in those conditions even if I had a free ticket. I don't care if it's the Super Bowl, it's just not worth it. I'd rather watch at home than risk frostbite. Plus, even if you don't get frostbite, it's just flat out uncomfortable. No thanks.

                              Bah, Midwesterners are so dramatic.

You ever lived in a house with no A/C while the temperature is above 95 for weeks?

                              Frostbite is a myth anyway.
