Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Not a good time to be a Jet and attending games(Blame Eli for it LOL)
Not even Knicks fans are buying the idea that Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes have kissed and made up. The Jets quarterback and mercurial wide receiver were booed on Wednesday when they were shown on the giant scoreboard during the first quarter of the Knicks-Clippers game
The crowd's negative reaction drew smiles from both players (r., photo by Howard Simmons/New York Daily News), who were seated front and center at the Garden. In fact, Holmes responded by waiving into the camera. Sanchez and Holmes' well-chronicled rift bubbled to the surface late last season when the mercurial wideout blew off a meeting organized by the signal caller in the run-up to their season finale against the Dolphins. Holmes got into a shouting match with teammates in the huddle during the game before then-offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer benched him for the final few minutes.
Teammates told the Daily News after the season that Holmes was a “cancer” in the locker room and his presence was "like dealing with a 10-year-old.”
Sanchez and Holmes spent a few days working out together at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando the week before the start of the Jets' off-season workouts began on April 16.
"He's still here as our starting quarterback," Holmes said on the first day of the off-season program. "I'm still here as our starting wide receiver."
Holmes expressed no personal regret for his behavior last season ("Why would I?" he said.) and didn't want to discuss his relationship with Sanchez right after the season.
Holmes maintained that his workouts with Sanchez in Florida were “a part of building our chemistry” and “we wanted to get a head start on some things.” Holmes admitted that he didn't invite recently acquired Tim Tebow or any other teammates to work out with Sanchez, Dustin Keller and Patrick Turner in Orlando#RespectTheCultureComment

These are his season passer rating rankings:
2009: 28th
2010: 27th
2011: 23th
Honestly, I think Sanchez has played well in the post-season. But I feel like they made the playoffs during his first two years because the defense and running game carried him a little. (In 2009 and 2010, the Jets were top 6 in fewest allowed points per game and were top 4 in rushing yards per game.)
Now in 2011, he was truly tested at how good of a quarterback he can be because since their defense and running game declined, it was up to him to give back and carry the team and he failed to get them to the post-season. I'd notice Sanchez threw a lot of crucial interceptions and the defense gave the offense a chance to take the lead, but he failed to rise to the occasion.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Caleb King was an undrafted free agent last year from Georgia and spent most of the year on the Vikings practice squad. This weekend he was invited to a birthday party that apparently raged until 3:00 a.m., only to end with King allegedly beating a fellow reveler to such an extent he suffered skull and facial fractures, possible brain damage and over 50 stitches.
