    Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

I'm not going to defend his HOF credentials, but McNabb made the eagles relevant for the better part of a decade with a cast of questionable weapons (outside of one season with TO which ended with them in the SB). He is a QB that did a lot with a little around him. Taking the HOF talk out of it, McNabb was a very good NFL QB for a long time. I think if he had been more accurate in the intermediate passing game, he could've been great. His refusal to work on his mechanics hindered his career IMO.

He was asked about it on CSN Philly.

Tanner Dikan, a 13-year-old from Topsfield, Massachusetts, got the opportunity play catch with NFL legend Tom Brady and meet other big name athletes thanks to Fanatics and Make-a-Wish.

I'm not trying to say McNabb sucked, he was a good QB and at times great QB, but to put himself in the same category as Marino is just ridiculous.

Meh, sounds more like he was saying that he and Marino got to the point where they had the chance to win it all and just couldn't do it as opposed to saying that he was AS good as Marino was.

I think there is a case for what he was saying....getting to the NFC Champ game 4 straight years is impressive. I think we all fall in love with SB and forget just how much goes into winning it that isn't controlled by these guys. Breaks, bounces, etc.

              Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

What McNabb said makes a lot of sense and no, I don't see him comparing himself to Dan Marino I think he's just saying that he, like Marino had a chance to win it all but couldn't and it's nothing to be ashamed of because it's such a hard feat to accomplish. I think McNabb's point would come across more clearly if he had mentioned Jim Kelly and Danny White as there is a more basis for comparison. (White went to 3 straight NFCGs and Kelly as we all know went to 4 straight SBs)

Let's also face facts, for most of McNabb's career he didn't exactly have the most reliable weapons to throw to and when he did have a bonafide, dependable guy to hook up with he led the team to a SB appearance. It's true that his refusal to work on his mechanics hindered his career and hastened a very sharp decline but for the bulk of his career he was a very good QB who put the Eagles on the map after the post Cunningham interregnum.

                    Josh Brent's BAC was 0.189.

DALLAS (Reuters) - The blood alcohol level of Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent was more than the twice the legal limit at the time of the December 8 automobile accident that killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown Jr., according to police documents released late Thursday.

Brent, 24, was also driving with a suspended license from Illinois, according to the documents, which cite speed, alcohol and swerving as contributing factors in the crash, in the Dallas suburb of Irving.

Brent's blood alcohol level was 0.189, according to the Irving police documents. The legal limit in Texas is 0.08.

Brent, a nose tackle, was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury on Wednesday on one count of intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony, punishable in Texas by two to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

He is free on bail of $100,000 but must wear an ankle monitor and not drive as a condition of his bond. The monitor tests whether he has consumed alcohol.

Items found in Brent's Mercedes included an unopened bottle of cognac, according to police documents.

No trial date has been set.

Brent had a drunken driving arrest in 2009, when he played football for the University of Illinois.

Why is this such a big deal to you?

Unfortunately people want to talk about him. I don't really see what the issue is.
