IMHO the Rams are not and should not be a 3-1 team. But hey, if it keeps Fisher a job there to hold them back so be it.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I would say Julio Jones. I saw one game where he had only 3 catches but 2 big PI calls that were huge. Plus he just can't be covered 1 on 1 which really opens the run game.
My picks would be:
Julio Jones
Von Miller
Matt Ryan"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Police investigation concluded Aqib Talib shot himself June 5th while intoxicated, but no charges pressed after he misled them with initial statements.
Could still see punishment come from the NFL.

Re: NFL Off Topic
TV Ratings down again for the 4th straight week
Once is an accident, twice is a trend. Four times is a new reality.
The NFL’s TV ratings are generally down in 2016, based on an apples-to-apples comparison between the corresponding weeks of the 2015 season.
Via SportsBusiness Daily, the overnight rating for Monday night’s Giants-Vikings game of 9.1 was down eight percent from the 9.9 generated in the same spot by Lions-Seahawks a season ago.
Sunday night’s ratings for Chiefs-Steelers were down 26 percent from Saints-Cowboys a year earlier, the early Sunday Colts-Jaguars game was down 24 percent, and the FOX late-afternoon window was down 10 percent. The FOX 1:00 p.m. ET window also saw a decline, with a 20-percent decline from 2015 to 2016.
In only one window did the league experience a ratings uptick: A two-percent climb in the regional games beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Whether the new reality continues isn’t known, and the reasons for it aren’t clear. Regardless, fewer people are watching the NFL on TV than they were a year ago. If this continues, it will be very hard for the league to experience the kind of growth it expects when the next round of broadcast-rights negotiations commences.
Meanwhile, don’t expect the new reality to change this weekend, when Thursday night’s game pits the 1-3 Cardinals against the 1-3 49ers, the Monday night game features the 1-3 Buccaneers against the 1-3 Panthers, and Giants-Packers on Sunday night competes with the second presidential debate.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I think they over saturated the market with Thursday night games. Plus, what set them apart from other sports was the raw violence, and that's being filtered.
Without that draw, why not watch basketball, hockey, or even soccer? There is more uninterrupted action if you are only interested in seeing feats of athleticism in those sports.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I think the issues w/ the game itself are overstated, but certainly are a factor on top of the political season, the schedule and 1.4m fewer with Cable/Satellite television compared to the same point this year all contributing to the numerous papercuts that result in these ratings deficits.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I think college football puts a damper on it as well for those who like both.
I mean with all the channels showing college games now there about 12 hours on Saturday for you to watch about any game you want followed but another 10 on Sunday.
I mean I love football but come Monday night if it isn't a good matchup I have no desire to watch more football.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Mestevo makes a great point about the people who've been cord cutting but I also agree that oversaturation has something to do with it. It's one thing to have Thursday Night games down the stretch of the season with theoretically important games and quite another when you have them all season long. The neutering of the game in terms of how it's played and the perceived "elite teams get all the calls" nature of the NFL now may also be playing into it on some level too.
Honestly, the NFL has been facing this reckoning for some time now but it's not like they're going to suddenly face a crisis like some other leagues have.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Agreed. It's not just one thing but a combination of all. Great point about the political season.
At some point, growth was gonna plateau or drop. There's only so many people who can consume.
Plus, we're approaching midseason. Let these playoff races heat up a bit. Fantasy leagues come to the end. I'm expecting a rebound of some sort, but maybe not to where the NFL likes.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'm just hoping Brady coming back will give something to talk about other than my star receiver being upset on the sidelines all the time, the media machine with this league is like no other.
Also, anecdotal, but growing up and seeing guys like Chad, TO, Randy Moss, and Steve Smith do touchdown celebrations was one of my favorite parts of Sundays. They've taken all of the stuff I loved out and left me with the rest.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
