Yeah, last yr was the 1st yr in his career that the O-line actually protected him. I really thought they would be contenders this yr, but aint no way with Jacoby Brisset likely being the QB will this team even make the playoffs, let alone be a SB contender. I dont have any faith in JB.

He did just get married this past yr, and his wife is pregnant, so dealing with another injury, and being a newlywed, and soon to be dad, he may just not have the same love for the game.

It doesnt make sense, at his age, and considering he played well coming back last season from a serious injury, and the injury he has now isnt serious, or so they have been saying, as they said just a week or so ago, that if it was the regular season he could play. So I dont get why he would just up and abruptly retire.

Most players today regardless what sport it is, just dont seem to have that same desire or toughness that guys use to have yrs ago. Although you could that for most of this younger generation period, not just ball players. So maybe he just is tired of the aches and pains, that come from playing, even though the QBs are babied now days to where you practically breath on them, its a penalty, LOL

A big shocking retirement. That was last time we saw one.

Both guys also signed 6 year deals a few years before their retirement.

Texans may very well "win" the AFC South and Bill O'Brien's ****ty *** will skate to another year.

              Ugh. **** this news.

Nope, they lost some players to injury. The Jags defense is too good and the offense will do enough.

I thought Megatron’s retirement was pretty shocking

As for Luck I fully support dude’s decision. We’ve had similar rumors around Kuechly since our Super Bowl year and as a Panthers fan I don’t want it but as a fan of Kuechly the person I want him to walk away from it forever and protect himself and I imagine that’s what a lot of Colts fans will feel after a little while.

Yeah it is odd, but you have to support his decision. Some fans apparently booed him as he walked off the field. Not cool.

Sucks though. I really had hopes for this season and the coming seasons with Ballard in charge. Now our rebuild is set back for however long it takes to find a QB. I don’t believe Brissett to be the guy...

And until then, the Colts can bring in Jay Cutler.

                        (Sorry.)

Have a hard time believing at his age that he will stay retired. Give it 1-3 years when he's not hurting anymore and he'll get that itch to come back.

Colts will not recoup $24m they could have had repaid, they settled the financials with Luck last week.

                            I don't think he'll be back.

If the desire to play isn't there anymore then its just not there, but still, the timing is pretty ****ty. This puts the Colts in a very rough spot, I wouldn't blame Colts fans for booing him tbh.

However, it is also possible that he did approach the team prior to camp and they talked him into reporting, taking a gamble that once he did he either would want to play, or he would feel like he 'has' to play.

It's his life. If I were him, I'd rather not have recurring pain the rest of my life because I played when I shouldn't have so I could get more $$.

I've definitely learned that money ain't everything.
