You don’t generally start settlement negotiations if you’re innocent and aren’t worried about the financial impacts of litigation.

Probably also don't discuss a settlement for months if there's nothing to the allegations either. Extortion is a crime, it says a lot that AB's camp hasn't gone down that path.

Is Off Topic the Injury thread this year? or should that be created?

Brees out ~6 weeks after thumb surgery.

We find out today possibly if Big Ben will need surgery on his elbow.

Edit: Ben to have surgery, done for the season.

I haven't gone through this, but hopefully things aren't really as bad as the lead in this SI investigation into Antonio Brown.

Exclusive: Accusations range from a previously untold account of sexual misconduct, a charity auction theft, multiple domestic incidents, and a long list of unpaid debts. Numerous conversations with people who have dealt with Brown, as well as reviews of court and police documents from three states, paint a disturbing picture.

I don’t agree entering settlement negotiations automatically makes a person guilty of any acquisition brought against them, and I don’t know if AB committed sexual assault or not, but all signs point to what I’ve suspected for a long time.

The guy is clearly an *******. Needs to grow up and learn a lesson in accepting accountability.

You could settle for a myriad of reasons. Settling is not an admission of guilt. Typically it comes down to, how much will the lawyers end up costing the accused, versus how much do the accusers want to settle for. When those numbers start getting closer and closer, you'll see a settlement. Typically. But we're dealing with Antonio Brown, and hes..well, eccentric, to say the least.

End of the day, the lawyers for both sides win.

Plus he may not have money left anymore. He hasn't paid a bunch of people. If the Pats can get the signing bonus back he possibly could be broke, who knows.

He's maybe assuming because Brown has so much unpaid debt that it's due to him not having the money to pay that debt. I personally assume his debt and lack of payment on said debt is because Brown is a colossal ******* who is narcissistic and self indulged but that's just me.

Just a possibility. Usually crazy people aren't good with money. People who don't pay bills usually don't have money to pay them.

Not paying bills when you have plenty of money is just going to cost you more in the long run.

It's a sad day when the coaches have pissed off one of the best CBs in the league. This is a long running issue with Marrone and Wash being idiots and not knowing how to use the players they have.

They have lost the locker room and now Ramsey has had enough. I didn't like what he did on Sunday, but I can't blame him. He can't stand playing on the losing team because of the terrible coaches.

Seems odd to move on from that type of talent in favor of Doug Marrone.

If those debts were large by pro athlete standards then I'd tend to agree more but were talking like $17k for a personal chef which at this point should be pretty easy for him to cover. Regardless of that he's just a piece of trash who uses people up before tossing them aside without paying them to top it off.
