Re: NFL Off Topic
Getting dicey, and I wonder why. We were good for 3 weeks and now and it’s all hitting. Complacency? Cooler weather? Probability?
Hope all affected recover fully. If we get a few more positives in the next few days, league might have to really figure out if it’s even possible to move forward with the season.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: NFL Off Topic
Can anyone imagine a crazy scenario like this determining a playoff spot in today's NFL?

At this point, the NFL needs to pause the season for 2-3 weeks. Everyone needs to go into a bubble and if they want to see their family, they have to join them. This is not going to work all season without the team bubbles. There are too many people on/supporting a NFL team to make sure none of them get it.
Look at Cam. He tests positive yesterday/maybe Thursday's test. So you go back 4-7 days for exposure. So the likelihood that he either got Monday on his day off or was exposed/already had it on Sunday is very high. How many other players will start testing positive now?Last edited by p_rushing; 10-03-2020, 01:58 PM.Comment

Complacency and not being in camp. The main issue is if you aren't isolating players, by the time someone tests positive it is too late. You don't test positive immediately, so most likely more players on the team have it.

You can't just suddenly implement a bubble for the same reasons MLB couldn't, the PA has to sign off on it I'm sure. Then there are the logistical issues with it as NFL rosters are bigger then both MLB and NBA making it a lot tougher.
Honestly Newton having it is far less concerning, assuming nobody else in New England pops up positive, then the Titans having so many coming up positive. I'd be more curious to see how Tennessee operates and whether any social distancing or mask wearing is being strictly enforced away from the field.

They did get that spot by beating the Giants in the SNF game. Still made for one of the craziest hours of football imaginable.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Not totally true, Falcons rookie CB tested positive last Saturday and no other Falcons have since. Titans have a clear outbreak but no Vikings have tested positive since.

The NFLPA does have to agree with it, but given the alternative of canceling games and paychecks they need to get in a bubble asap. If not games will be canceled because you can't reschedule games every week.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I just finished watching the NFL Super Stadiums two-hour special (with commercials) of SoFi Stadium's construction on the Science channel. It's crazy respectable how much goes into building one of these cathedrals, specifically in the planning stages and how many things are done by hand, not to mention all of the elements that have to be considered when building.
It was annoying listening to the narrator describe the construction like a suspense thriller though: "Any bump or gap [in the turf] could trip up a player, potentially ending a career or costing a championship!" Things like that. It got kind of old.
It also surprises me that more workers aren't killed during construction. Sadly, when Googling it I found that two workers were: one from a fall and one due to a personal health cause. I can't imagine being a part of such a dangerous job.Last edited by Blzer; 10-03-2020, 05:07 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Welp a FB for New Orleans tested positive after the team landed in Detroit and sat next to Kamara on the flight so he was tested again as well as 7 players he was in contact with. Went 3 weeks and had very few issues but damn week 4 has made up for it.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I do think we need a pause for a couple weeks at this point. And a new plan in place for situations like we've seen in the last week.Comment
