That was great. It looks like Dallas ended up getting that playoff spot.....and then was quickly dismissed by Minnesota in the wild-card 27-10...which was also the same weekend as the Music City Miracle.

Getting dicey, and I wonder why. We were good for 3 weeks and now and it’s all hitting. Complacency? Cooler weather? Probability?

Hope all affected recover fully. If we get a few more positives in the next few days, league might have to really figure out if it’s even possible to move forward with the season.

Oh man, that brings back memories. I *was* in a fantasy football championship that week, after making the playoffs at 7-6 in a crazy 3-way tiebreaker and then beating a 13-0 team in the semis. I didn't have Beuerlein, but I did have Patrick Jeffers. The final came down to the last play of the season - Falcons/49ers on MNF. My opponent in the final had both Rice and T.O. and the game ended with a Jeff Garcia Hail Mary into the endzone - if either Rice or Owens came down with the catch, I would've lost. Good times!

Complacency and not being in camp. The main issue is if you aren't isolating players, by the time someone tests positive it is too late. You don't test positive immediately, so most likely more players on the team have it.

At this point, the NFL needs to pause the season for 2-3 weeks. Everyone needs to go into a bubble and if they want to see their family, they have to join them. This is not going to work all season without the team bubbles. There are too many people on/supporting a NFL team to make sure none of them get it.

Look at Cam. He tests positive yesterday/maybe Thursday's test. So you go back 4-7 days for exposure. So the likelihood that he either got Monday on his day off or was exposed/already had it on Sunday is very high. How many other players will start testing positive now?

Not totally true, Falcons rookie CB tested positive last Saturday and no other Falcons have since. Titans have a clear outbreak but no Vikings have tested positive since.

You can't just suddenly implement a bubble for the same reasons MLB couldn't, the PA has to sign off on it I'm sure. Then there are the logistical issues with it as NFL rosters are bigger then both MLB and NBA making it a lot tougher.

Honestly Newton having it is far less concerning, assuming nobody else in New England pops up positive, then the Titans having so many coming up positive. I'd be more curious to see how Tennessee operates and whether any social distancing or mask wearing is being strictly enforced away from the field.

They did get that spot by beating the Giants in the SNF game. Still made for one of the craziest hours of football imaginable.

Not saying anyone else will get it, but you have to proceed like they will. That means anyone else exposed to Cam in the last week needs to be isolated. If you try to do business as usual and only isolate Cam, then you risk an outbreak. Cam has been in team meetings with the other QBs inside a room. You can reduce the risks, but they are still there. Playing a game adds risk of it spreading to the other team since you don't know how many players have it. The risk is lower in a game since it is outside, but still a risk.

The NFLPA does have to agree with it, but given the alternative of canceling games and paychecks they need to get in a bubble asap. If not games will be canceled because you can't reschedule games every week.

I just finished watching the NFL Super Stadiums two-hour special (with commercials) of SoFi Stadium's construction on the Science channel. It's crazy respectable how much goes into building one of these cathedrals, specifically in the planning stages and how many things are done by hand, not to mention all of the elements that have to be considered when building.

It was annoying listening to the narrator describe the construction like a suspense thriller though: "Any bump or gap [in the turf] could trip up a player, potentially ending a career or costing a championship!" Things like that. It got kind of old.

It also surprises me that more workers aren't killed during construction. Sadly, when Googling it I found that two workers were: one from a fall and one due to a personal health cause. I can't imagine being a part of such a dangerous job.

Welp a FB for New Orleans tested positive after the team landed in Detroit and sat next to Kamara on the flight so he was tested again as well as 7 players he was in contact with. Went 3 weeks and had very few issues but damn week 4 has made up for it.

This will be interesting. It could be 3-5 days before anyone that caught it on the flight may show a positive test.

I can see a total shut down and a cancelation of the season coming. I hope it doesn't happen but I'd bet it's going to.

I don't think we'll see a cancelation. Too much money at stake. The NFL will play a season full of replacement players before they'll shut the season down for good.

I do think we need a pause for a couple weeks at this point. And a new plan in place for situations like we've seen in the last week.
