A statue of Barry Sanders was unveiled recently outside Ford Field. This compelled me to look at his career highlights. I'm 49, so I remember many of these runs very well.

With all due respect to the other greats, do not tell me that Brown, or Payton, or Smith, or anyone else was better than Barry.

Do yourself a favor and take a few minutes to watch this montage. That man was amazing, and no one has ever come close to doing the things he almost routinely did on the football field.

      Mahomes deal restructured:
Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms on a restructured contract that pays the QB $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, the most in history over a four-year span, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Monday. The agreement could reach $218.1 million with escalators by the end of 2026.

The $210.6 million is guaranteed over the next four years, per Rapoport and Pelissero.

Sides also plan to revisit the deal again after the 2026 season, effectively cutting the remaining years on the deal from eight to three.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has agreed to terms on a restructured contract that will pay him $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Knowing what we know now… Barry got out at the right time.

That highlight reel was magical. I wish so many weren’t on that ugly green turf in Detroit, lol.

Playing for that franchise does wild **** to players because they had 2 players retire early while they still had plenty of good-great years left in them.

How many of those kind of players did we have?

This is off the top. But I can think of Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Robert Smith (Viking), Calvin Johnson, Andrew Luck (I feel bad for him. Watching him get booed off the field. That sucked). Anyone else like this?

To be fair, I was moreso mocking the Lions for having 2 HOF players pretty much go “Man **** that, I’d rather retire than to keep dealing with this BS every year” lol

Rumor was Jimmy Johnson wanted to trade for Barry. When the Lions said no, Barry gave them the finger.

Would have been interesting to see if Emmitt would have been able to hold Barry off for the yardage record. Really doubt it, honestly.
