      Of course.

They can't be competitive so why keep around dead weight for nostalgia purposes?

Harris had no guaranteed money. Decker is coming off injury and clears cap space.

They simply can't compete with anyone in the AFC East or the league for that matter..so why should they pretend like they can.

Harris is an all-time Jet so it is messed up how they cut him this late though during OTAs. Terrible way to treat the guy who can still play BTW.

How is it rebuilding by making these moves this late in the year?

Comes off as just a money saving move, it's not like they can allocate it elsewhere at this point.

Well it moves them from rebuilding to straight up tanking.

              2 year deal.

Sounds like the Ravens might still be looking at picking up Decker. I don't know if I like that thought. If all goes as planned he'd be the 4th WR at a hefty price, and they've got some young guys that are fine as 4th and 5th string... just not 2nd and 3rd.

Maclin just seems like a Ravens kind of player to me.

As a Chiefs fan this is just going to be weird. However as great as Charles was I think injuries have slowed him quite a bit.

Good pickup for Tennessee. Rishard Mathews, Eric Decker, rookie Davis, last year's preseason darling Sharpe, Eric Weems and Harry Douglas for some special teams action. Not a bad overall group now with just that one addition.

Whatever happened to Kendall Wright? Is he still sitting in free agency?

I believe Kendall signed with Chicago.

Pats signed David Harris. Love the signing. 2 year deal, and fills a hole as we are hurting for LBers.

                            Raiders News

The Raiders are close to finalizing a deal with Derek Carr that will pay the quarterback $25 million per year, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Per Schefter, the sides still are finalizing language, but the record deal could be announced by the end of the week.

Reports earlier this month indicated Carr was on his way to becoming the first quarterback to make $25 million annually, and it appears that day is closer than ever. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has an average annual paycheck of $24.594 million per season, currently the highest. Carson Palmer and Drew Brees also make more than $24 million per season.

Carr, who is scheduled to make $977,519 in base salary in 2017, has insisted he wanted to complete a deal before training camp to avoid distractions.

Probably wishes he was in Vegas already, contract would be worth something like 13% more.

$125m contract extension makes Carr a Raider through 2022. Reportedly features some delayed $$ to allow the team to more easily sign some of their other stars as well as take advantage of the changing tax situation as the team relocates in 2020.
