Well we know these contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on but 5 years vs 3 years is what he wanted. The whole "go somewhere that wanted me" says years to me. I really do think it was similar to the Welker situation though. The way the whole thing went down, wants to feel like the man somewhere again, not someone the team is willing to drag through the mud.

Again, I don't agree with him (though I'm happy with him on my team) but also don't think it's all that crazy.

I don't know...you are always pretty straight up. If you came in here with Broncos smack, that might not fly very well (depending on the week). You had a lot of ammo this post season and you kept your distance. Probably a good move, but seeing your new avatar is always a bitter reminder.

It bothers me a bit that Denver is becoming the favorite to win it all next year. How often does the early favorite actually come through? Not very often.

Funny, I only changed the avatar bc somebody said I should after the sb. I can see how that might sting a little, lol. I'm just happy to have a ring tho. I kniw they got lucky as hell... wouldn't be right to brag about that.

I hear you on the favorite talk. It always depends on health bc there are always injuries. I feel like the broncos are significantly better than anybody else in the afc if they can stay healthy. Houston can challenge them in talent, but doesn't have the Manning factor. That makes a difference in the playoffs.

It might be time to jump off of the Freeney train. Regardless of the contract, I don't like the idea of having him wanting to wait until training camp is over before he signs because doesn't want to go through it. He'll end up being another expensive veteran who sidelined with an injury..... Hello, Ty Warren.

I'm fine with Robert Ayers. He's better in run defense, and can contribute in the passing game. I like that he can be a three-down lineman. Plus we have guys like Derek Wolfe who came out of college as a DE. I really don't think losing Dumervil is a big deal. The one game when Dumervil went out with an injury, Ayers came in and had himself a solid game.

I always kinda had this feeling that he wanted out of Denver because of the 58 that is there and all the attention being given to him.

Maybe he didn't like the fact that the nickname was vondoom instead of doomvon.

The Ravens roster is dictating that they may as well play in a 4-3.I know they play a hybrid but I don't really see where the benefit is in 3-4 at this point.I guess their inside linebackers better make alot of tackles.

It's looking either less likely Freeney or Abraham will be signed but why humor guys that are playing the money game.Make them come to you and not look like a desperate team but like was mentioned, the guys here can do the job and there is a draft coming up that can give you a young pass rusher.

I'm surprised that Antoine Winfield was linked to be on the Broncos radar. He's old but was still an effective slot corner and could play safety because he's such a good tackler. You can never have enough good DB's nowadays.

Dumervil wearing #58 in Baltimore is interesting. He is very close friends with Miller and it is a tribute to Von and their friendship. Their friendship is why I thought that Dumervil would be back in Denver. Friendship is exactly why I thought Freeney would sign quickly with Denver (the Manning effect like last year). Shows how much I know...

Ayers is definitely serviceable. I agree, 86, that he had a great game vs Carolina last year. I am not sure how great he would be against the top LTs in the league and he needs to work on his pass rush moves.

Denver will be fine with out Dumervil. I have to believe that the Johns have a plan... which could have been their Plan A from the get-go. We will definitely know more come draft weekend. There must be a DE, DL, or LB that they love. Another Von Miller-type LB could fill the need as well.

Honestly, at this point, I am more concerned about our RB position.

Funny thing you mention top LTs. I remember before the Atlanta game, there was a big deal about their Lt and how he hasn't been very good, Dumervil was going own him, etc. then Elvis gets smothered by him all game long 1 on 1.

I think Eddie Lacy is our target in the first round.

I think the benefit to running a 3-4 is in direct relation to Dumervil. I've always felt Dumervil would be better off playing standing up than with his hand in the dirt.

At this point, I really want Lacy. I just hope he is still there at 28. I am still surprised they didn't sign a FA running back. As deep as the draft is in linemen this year, taking a RB in the first round may be a pretty good idea.

I expect Lacy to be there given the recent trend against drafting running backs early. I can see a lot of teams wanting to trade out of the first round this year.
