I was going to make this post about Tebow, but Warren Moon said it better than I could: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/92...ng-not-cut-cfl

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Thanks for the link 86... Good stuff.
This video has me believing more that Monte Ball was the right choice over Lacy. He is a durable TD machine and has all of the tools. Is it September yet???

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
After watching video highlights of Le'Veon Bell, he looks to me like Knowshon 2.0. Lacy's propensity to hamstring injuries and a past turf toe surgery makes me glad Denver passed on him. Ball's only injury throughout his college career is 1 concussion, plus he only fumbled 2x. That is pretty remarkable considering all of his carries.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
What I loved in those highlights was that he doesn't have happy feet. He isn't trying to juke everyone. He makes a cut or two and goes. What I loved was his ability to get moving again once he made the cut, then deliver a blow on the defender. That sounds like a running back we had back in the late 90's, no wonder Elway wanted him. I think we got the best RB in the draft.Comment

Alex Marvez stated that Montee Ball was going to be GB's pick. They must have thought Denver was going with Lacy all the way. I wonder if GB also had Ball ahead of Lacy on their board.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I'm not so worried. Anymore, most running backs don't last past 30 years old anyways. If we get a good 5 years out of Ball, that'd be stellar. By that time, we draft another kid.Comment

Here are a few guys that seemed to have bucked the odds per their nasayers:
LaDanian Tomlinson, TCU - 943
Ray Rice, Rutgers- 910
DeAngelo Williams, Memphis- 969
Michael Turner, Northern Illinois- 940Last edited by TRC; 05-07-2013, 07:13 PM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Denver just hired Offensive guru, Alex Gibbs, to be a consultant. I really like the idea of bringing Gibbs in to nail down their zone blocking scheme for Montee Ball. He did wonders for Terrell Davis and his O-line.
Is it me or is Elway trying to re-create the '96-'98 Broncos team?? The next 2 years are going to be fun!Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
The NFL is all about connections. Whether you're a GM or a coach, it's about who you know. You can be the most brilliant coach on the planet, but if you can't amass a solid staff you won't have success. I like that Elway is tapping into the resources he has, because someone like Alex Gibbs is a fantastic resource. What better way to ensure that the rookie running back is successful than by making sure the offensive line can open holes for him?
Now if only Josh McDaniels hadn't fired Bobby Turner.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
It's exciting that Gibbs is back. He's as good as they get at working with o-line technique in the zone blocking scheme.
Hopefully Peyton will have 3 more years because that's what he'll need to break Favre's td and passing yards records. He'll do it in around 3 less years than it took Favre though.
Hearing that there may still be some interest in Freeney who is finally getting to the point of possibly signing somewhere within a week or so they say.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Just saw that Charles Woodson is coming in for a visit on Wednesday and supposedly has gotten an offer and is likely to sign. There are other teams interested such as Carolina and Oakland but he would obviously rather play for a contender.
I think he's still a very good in the box safety and has a knack for the ball but has lost a step or two and is injury prone.I'm sure the offer is relatively small and he could be an asset but likely not an every down player.
I'm not sure what this would do for the supposed interest in Freeney and which player would help more at this point.I'd probably still prefer the extra situational pass rusher but if we could get both for the right price...Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I guess he doesn't care if he's on one of the worst teams in the league for his last season instead of an elite.:It's telling that the Packers didn't even want him anymore even though they have plenty of cap room and a young mediocre safety replacing him on a defense that's less than stellar.
Freeney doesn't know what he's doing either. The Chargers are desperate for any pass rushing help after Melvin Ingram went down for the year and I guess they'll regret not trying to hang onto Shaun Phillips.Freeney will probably get injured too but regardless they'll have to play some 4-3 to get anything out of him.Comment
