What are the flaws of being a 5'11 OLB??
Marshall's issues stemmed from dating a pyscho which I know all about from a personal experience. Its amazing what happens when you stop dating or hanging out with the wrong people.

Dumervil is an odd case. He's on the short side but he's got the arm length. His '08 season I'll credit to a bad hand that never really got right so we'll see what happens. Atleast he's got the weight and the speed to cover as an OLB.

Haha, glad you and Brandon have moved on.

Ok. I thought the arm length is the only problem when it comes to D-line. You would think being shorter would be a plus because of the lower pad level. We'll see what happens.

A big focus this offseason should be on health.

Its hard to say what and where he'll play. He could still be on the line for a portion of the game and then standup in others. Are we 4-3, 3-4, hybrid of sorts.. we shall see. But you're right about his height, its the same as when he was on the line, he can slip under those big guys

Last year was a major fluke to lose that many people especially in one position. This camp will definitely not be the same which is a good thing, no one is comfortable or knows what to expect anymore

Yeah, I'm curious to see how this camp will play out.

Odd, Bowlen goes a different route promoting Xanders to GM instead of leaving Goodman to run the show.. yet another wrinkle I want to see how it turns out.

            http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=090...s&confirm=true

Upon hiring Josh McDaniels as Shanahan's replacement, Bowlen said his GM was already in house -- presumably Jim Goodman. But Bowlen changed his mind and decided Xanders was the man best suited to lead the Broncos back to the postseason after three straight seasons out of the playoffs and just one playoff victory in the decade since Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway's retirement.

Broncos start the cutting, glad I dont have to see Winborn celebrate after every tackle.

The cut players were defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, defensive end John Engelberger, linebacker Jamie Winborn, safety Marquand Manuel, linebacker Niko Koutouvides and tight end Nate Jackson.
The Broncos are expected to be in fine salary cap shape once they shed the contracts of some veterans and the word around Denver is it could be a bloodletting. The team is almost certain to cut defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson and cornerback Dre' Bly. Cutting Robertson would give Denver about $16 million and cutting Bly, which could happen this week, would give Denver more than $6 million in cap room. Other veterans who could potentially be salary-cap causality include guard Ben Hamilton.

Bly and Hamilton?? what would be the use of that? I would really like to see Bly and Bailey out there when we actually have a pass rush..

I agree, I don't want to see him go either. I think if they were going to cut him they would have done it today. It seems like the new management made there decisions and wanted to do it all at once.

I think that's a good point. Bly may not quite be the defender he used to be, but he's still a great #2

Bly's contract is the driving factor, not his play.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos continued their salary purge Tuesday by releasing 10-year veteran cornerback Dre' Bly, who had spent two years starting opposite star Champ Bailey.
                          Dre' Bly, CB

Bly was acquired from the Detroit Lions on March 2, 2007, to replace Darrent Williams, the rising 24-year-old cornerback who had been killed in a drive-by shooting two months earlier.

The Lions traded Bly and their 2007 sixth-round draft pick to the Broncos for running back Tatum Bell, offensive tackle George Foster and Denver's 2007 fifth-round draft pick.

In his two years in Denver, Bly recorded 134 tackles, one sack and seven interceptions, including 77 stops and two picks last season.

Bly is the fourth defensive starter dumped this week by the new regime of general manager Brian Xanders and head coach Josh McDaniels, who replaced the fired Mike Shanahan.

Bly was due to count $6.8 million against next season's $123 million salary cap.
Not surprised at all, contract was too heavy for his play.

Looks like Haynesworth is going to test the market and Peppers has stated he would only accept trade to 4 teams, Cowboys was one and the other 3 were unnamed.

Who would fit better in Denver?

And, personally, who would you guys rather have wearing orange and blue next year?

Because of the fact that they have so many needs I don't see them going out and spending a ton of money on one person.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have either/or on the Broncos, but with so many needs I just don't see how they can go out and get one and not hamper the means necessary to fill the rest of the voids.
