I know Brian Dawkins does a tremendous amount of community work...a very quality person. But as far as a football player, I have always hated him; think he is a late-hitting cheap shot ***hole, but seeing him in the blue and orange, he's our late-hitting cheap shot ***hole now

I think both sides showed immaturity. All that I know is McDaniels liked Cassel personally. So, he thought it was ok to just throw Cutler around in talks. Cutler took it like a baby. Very childish of him.

Cutler- was asked to put a team with 7 RB's on IR and a MIA defense on his shoulders.

Cassel- was asked to just not make mistakes and play quarterback for a Super Bowl team.

Lost every positive emotion I had for McDaniels and gained a lot of respect for Xanders.

I'm not worrying though. I think this is just a bump in the road, bad form with McDaniels and Cutler. Both can be forgiven and will.

Like avrbas said, it's more of a misunderstanding then a team wrecking incident. ESPN is just stiring everything up.

Bill Williamson is reporting that Patrick Ramsey won't end up in Houston, but is still available

and we are still interested in Grady Jackson

Signed Andre Goodman (CB; Miami) to a 5 year, $25 million contract ($10 million guaranteed), another veteran (31) added to the secondary.

            Mike Leach released.

Could be a great signing since he has been banged up a lot of his career and his first truly full and healthy season (last year) he does very well.

Only one spot open in our secondary now:

              FS: Dawkins
              SS: Unknown

              CB: Goodman CB: Bailey

We have Renaldo Hill so he could be playing with Dawkins, although his playing time has been at free safety.

Oh yeah forgot. As of now I don't see a reason it wouldn't be Hill. Barrett should get a lot of special team work in, but hopefully some time at safety as well.

I hope McDaniels and Cutler destroy this team.

                    McDaniels ftw.

                      on top of everything else...

                      great.

The Broncos may be playing a significant portion of the 2009 season without Brandon Marshall after the star receiver was arrested early Sunday in Atlanta.
An Atlanta City Jail supervisor told The Denver Post that Marshall was booked on a disorderly conduct charge at 5:58 a.m. Marshall was released at 10:24 a.m. after posting a $300 bond.
The charge means Marshall is facing a lengthy suspension — possibly up to a full season — by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

If the Broncos were trying to move Cutler, there has to be something going on behind the scenes that we are not privvy to. Personality conflict, some sort of clash with management, something.

Any idea's on that one? I can't see a team trying to move a kid with his kind of talent, just as he's getting in to his prime, just for the fun of it.

I don't think Cutler endeared himself to the brass when Shanahan was cut loose. His comments came off as a prima donna baby. He was upset that he wasn't consulted, hell kid win a playoff game first before you start running your mouth.

I think the whole story is what is...the Broncos were contacted, they looked at it, and declined it. But according to Av's "source"
() McDaniel's wanted it and Xanders put the kibosh to it. I imagine McDaniels would have loved it. Cassel knows his system and McDaniels trusts him to run his ship. Cutler hasn't shown much since the coaching change to prove he can be the trusted captain. Besides, Cutler is a big baby.

It will be interesting in Broncosland here the next few months to see how this relationship blossoms.

When I read your post BK, I could almost see the smile on your face as you were writing it.

Brandon Marshall. How is it so hard to keep your damn nose clean from trouble? If it's that hard, stay inside your house.

Pretty much the way its said to have happened but the part that seems to piss off touchy Cutler was that the Broncos were considering or possibly minutes away from completing the deal before KC swooped in. There's too much guess work on what happened so we'll never really know.

Personality clash could be the common factor though, Cutler could undermine McDaniels and I'm sure McDaniels wouldn't like that very much. We've got Dan Reeves and John Elway, The Sequel!!. Oh and after Shanahan left, Cutler wasn't thrilled but he atleast still had Bates. Well Bates went to USC after being told he wasn't going to call the offense, Bates was one of Cutler's better friends so that couldn't have been good for Cutler and also McDaniels
