7th round pick that could've been a 6th if he re-signed with Atlanta

I wonder if McDaniels would consider this if it actually happens. LT and SD cant reach an agreement, he gets released.

Selvin Young is not a free agent, he's under contract this year and will be a restricted free agent in 2010.

Andre Hall is a restricted free agent so he could remain a Bronco (doubtful) if they decide to match an offer.

Don't even kid about something like that, get our hopes up and everything. I don't care, LT is not washed up yet.

You able to dig anything up on the switch to orange?

LT is set to make $6.725M with his salary, if they dont want to deal with it then by all means send him here.

Nothing really, I just found it highly interesting that Dawkins was introduced with an orange jersey. Normally its the blue ,when Shanahan was running the ship atleast

I was hoping one of your sources had additional information.

              Daily news on free agents

--Travis Daniels (DB, Cleveland) has a visit setup for next week

--Denver Post says Brandon Marshall may not get an extension pending the outcome with the NFL on his latest fling with a woman. Shame he gets caught up in stupid crap and now hurt his contract chances here.

The Vikings are going to have Paymah over for an interview, 3 free agents of the Broncos now have interested teams.

I searched high and low around the web and radio to see if I could find anything but nothing , just my intrigued thought with the introduction. LT would look good in orange though

So if I can count, we've signed 13 free agents (12 if you count Kenny Peterson returning to the team).

Koutouvides (TB) and Pears (Oak) are so far the only players to sign to another team as a FA.

                    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

It's been almost two weeks since the Chargers and LaDainian Tomlinson's agent began the back and forth of a contract restructure for the iconic running back.

The back and forth is finished.

This is up to Tomlinson now. It's a matter of whether he wants to play for less money in San Diego.

Information is coming in this saga like water from a drippy faucet. But my understanding is that Tomlinson has the Chargers' final offer.

That offer could be for two years or three years. Whatever it is, it will be for less money than the $24 million he is scheduled to make by 2011. What form the new money takes (signing bonus, roster bonus, incentives) is not known.

We heard Thursday on 1090-AM from Tomlinson's mother that it's not promising Tomlinson will remain a Charger. Even before that, every indication I had gotten privately from those who know Tomlinson was that he was gone.

What does that mean? I have no confidence that I know.

But we do know that at this point it's up to him whether he wants to stay and play for less money.

There may have been many reasons why the Broncos' quarterback remains Jay Cutler and not Matt Cassel.

                    Perhaps the most overlooked: money.

Regardless of how serious the Broncos may have been about a Cassel-Cutler trade, the team may have quickly discovered the deal was unaffordable.

Cassel was franchised by the New England Patriots for a guaranteed $14.6 million this season. Cutler has already drawn $17.3 million, not including incentives, through the first three years of his six-year deal, but is scheduled to make only a $1.035 million base salary in 2009, plus a $100,000 bonus for attending 90 percent of the team's offseason conditioning program.

The 2009 price-tag difference between Cassel and Cutler: $13.465 million.
Chris Simms is making a nice salary as a backup, $6 million
The total value of Simms' contract is $6 million: a $1.5 million bonus, $1.96 million salary in 2009 and $2.54 million salary in 2010. Simms also can earn another $3 million in incentives.

Cutler's going nowhere. A mil? Are you kidding me? No way they'd trade him this year, even if he was having an affair with the owner's wife.

They've just spent a ton of money on him and this year he's scheduled to make about 1 million dollars.

Gotcha. Cutler had one real chance of being traded but that boat sailed for some time now. I would love to be in the coach's office to see how this week's meeting of McDaniels with Cutler goes

                            2011: $1.81 million (+ $12 million roster bonus

That relationship would have to be REALLY bad for them to trade him... and if they did they should be able to ask for the moon. Hell, he's probably going to be asking to restructure soon but he needs to win some meaningful games.

                                Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

Denver television station KCNC reports that Jay Cutler finally spoke with Broncos coach Josh McDaniels and owner Pat Bowlen on a conference call Monday for the first time since the quarterback’s name surfaced in trade talks last week.

However, the trio did not sit down to talk about Dancing with the Stars or spring-break vacation plans. Instead, KCNC reports that McDaniels laid down the law with Cutler. The coach said that he wasn’t shopping the quarterback, but he warned that all players on the roster are open for evaluation. The Broncos were rumored to be interested in former New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel, who eventually was traded to the Broncos’ division rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cutler has been nursing some bruised feelings in the past week, and KCNC went on to say that the quarterback refused to return calls from Bowlen until Monday. Cutler is expected to join the Broncos on Monday as they commence voluntary offseason workouts.

CBS4 Sports has learned Jay Cutler and the Broncos have finally spoken. It was not face-to-face, but rather by conference call on Monday with Cutler, head coach Josh McDaniels and owner Pat Bowlen among those on the line.

The much awaited discussion was prompted after the now well-publicized events on the first weekend of free agency. The Broncos explored a possible trade that would have sent Cutler out of town for former Patriots backup Matt Cassel. The trade never happened and Cassel eventually ended up in Kansas City. The Broncos denied they initiated any trade talks, but Cutler was certain the team tried to move him.

Sources close to the situation tell CBS4 Sports that the tone of the discussion was not exactly "make nice" as might have been expected. We're told McDaniels made it clear to the quarterback how the team will be run, and how Cutler was expected to fit into that plan. McDaniels reiterated the Broncos position that they have no intention of trading Cutler, but he also made it clear that all players are being constantly evaluated and could be traded if management thinks it will make the team better.

CBS4 Sports contacted the Broncos for a comment about Monday's discussions, but so far they have not responded.

The Broncos expect Cutler to report to Dove Valley next Monday, when the Broncos begin voluntary offseason workouts.

CBS4 Sports has also learned that Bowlen attempted to contact Cutler last week, but he was unsuccessful.
