Personality clash could be the common factor though, Cutler could undermine McDaniels and I'm sure McDaniels wouldn't like that very much. We've got Dan Reeves and John Elway, The Sequel!!. Oh and after Shanahan left, Cutler wasn't thrilled but he atleast still had Bates. Well Bates went to USC after being told he wasn't going to call the offense, Bates was one of Cutler's better friends so that couldn't have been good for Cutler and also McDaniels
Considering Cutler himself said he knows it's a business, he sure seems to be taking a lot of things personal.

Ya he understands its a business but he's letting it get to him on a personal level. He mentioned maybe they dont think he's smart enough or able to adapt to the game strategy McDaniels want. He's being a bitch, refusing to come in today to talk since he's already got his mind made up thanks to Bus Cook.

Charges of disorderly conduct filed against Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall were dismissed Monday morning in an Atlanta, Ga., court.

"Based on my investigation yesterday, he shouldn't have been charged in the first place and I was confident the charges would be dismissed," said Harvey Steinberg, Marshall's attorney.

Marshall was arrested and booked into an Atlanta city jail at 5:58 a.m. Sunday and was released at 10:24 a.m. EST Sunday after posting a $300 bond.

Will the fact that charges were dropped so quickly have any affect on his length of suspension?

Probably not, he was detained and I'm sure Goodell on their last pow wow told him to not even be around trouble if it happened. I'm thinking atleast 4 games if we're lucky.

Derrick Ward
The Broncos are expected to decide Monday whether to sign free agent Derrick Ward or to finalize J.J. Arrington's contract.

Arrington will be cheaper, but Ward is a far superior player and would give Denver credibility at tailback. The Broncos' current projected starter is Correll Buckhalter, who hasn't had over 83 carries in a season since 2003.
Can we mold them into one? We need a return specialist and possibly a starter that can last a half.

Cutler
A league source told the Denver Post that the Vikings have expressed interest in Jay Cutler.

The Lions also remain interested, but Denver is adamant about keeping Cutler. The Broncos wouldn't want Detroit's No. 1 pick because of the cost and neither team can offer a QB that would make a deal feasible. The Broncos only would've traded Cutler if they were getting Matt Cassel in return.
Cutler is like the chick in HS that everyone finds out is single and now every goon tries to get at her.

I heard Michael Smith (I know you hate ESPN) say a lengthy suspension probably won't follow because the charges were dropped so quickly because there was a complete lack of evidence that there was any wrongdoing.

That kind of makes sense. I know it seems like Marshall did something wrong, and he probably did, but how would Goodell have any authority over our legal system if there is no evidence. I understand the commisioners office works more like civil court rather then legal court, but I hope the NFL looks deep into this and not rush into any decisions.

Marshall has never been found guilty of any of his previous run-ins with law enforcement but was suspended for 3 games (1 game after he won his appeal). Goodell will probably up the ante to hopefully have Marshall "get it". Either that or he needs to go to some counseling (marriage, women, maturity..whatever helps him)

Lol Alfred Williams is out of his ****ing mind. He says we didnt make the playoffs because of our offense, not because of the defense.. and he's serious about it. "I cant believe people are really saying the reason the Broncos didnt make the playoffs last year was because of the defense"

Ronald Fields (DL; SF) signed a 2 year deal for $5 million. He'll be our NT until we potentially draft someone. He's 6'2, 320lbs.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

So I wont be using ESPN anymore for reports. See below

The problem for Denver and new coach Josh McDaniels, who wanted to reunite with Cassel, is that Cassel was dealt to Kansas City and Cutler caught wind of the talks. Now, Cutler would prefer to play elsewhere because he mad at the Denver brass. But Denver doesn't have a quarterback to replace him and unless it would try to get into the Kurt Warner talks, there are no quality replacements.

Still, with Cutler preferring to leave, the word around the league is that several teams could be having internal talks about what it would take to get Cutler. After all, 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterbacks aren't always on the trading block.
Bill Williamson obviously paid zero attention to what Cutler had to say, stirring the pot much ESPN? Cutler made sure that people know he still loves Denver, if he didnt want to play here why would he be upset about it over the span of 3 days now.

No use for these ESPN assclowns anymore.

Edit- Derrick Ward supposedly signed with the Bucs ($17M for 4 years, $6M guaranteed). Glad we didnt pick him up if for that amount.

CUTLER COULD INTRIGUE CLEVELAND Posted by Mike Florio on March 2, 2009, 11:39 p.m.
Earlier on Monday, a league source advised us that the new regime in Cleveland — known lovingly in league circles as “ManKok” — would likely be interested in Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler as an alternative to Derek Anderson and/or Brady Quinn.
And there are indeed as of this posting an old-fashioned, unsubstantiated, poo-on-the-wall “Internet rumor” regarding a deal that would send Brady Quinn and Shaun Rogers to the Broncos for Cutler and a third-round pick.
To be crystal clear, we are not reporting that a trade is or could be happening. In fact, given the top-secret manner in which the Browns handled the Kellen Winslow trade, we’re confident that word of such a transaction would not leak. Our contribution to this one is only that it’s believed that coach Eric Mangini and G.M. George Kokinis would be interested in Cutler.
(That said, you can bet that there will be plenty of people who come away from this one thinking that we’re reporting that the deal is already done.)
Much more would have to be determined, such as whether the Broncos would be interested in Quinn, who played college football at Notre Dame for Charlie Weis, who proceeded Denver coach Josh McDaniels as New England offensive coordinator and likely mentored him.
Still, we’re willing to put this one in the “possibility” category.
Interesting what is flying around out there.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

No one from the Broncos' organization would comment further Monday, instead saying that what McDaniels told The Denver Post on Saturday remains the team's position. McDaniels denied he initiated the trade proposal, telling The Post: "We've received trade calls on a number of players, which is not uncommon this time of the year. I also think the sensitivity of the other trade that was occurring, with my relationship with New England and the whole Cassel thing, I think that stirred the pot even more.
"We don't want to trade Jay. We never did. He's our quarterback."
Told of McDaniels' denial, Cutler said, "He's covering his (tracks)."
This is from the DenverPost.

This is going to be a mess. Cutler is acting like a chick. It's a business, talks happen. He better look in the mirror and figure out what he needs to do to make sure talks like these never happen again...unless he truly will be moved.

We've got plenty of time for him to come around. He just needs to stay out of town for awhile to let this die down. If he's going to get traded, it wont be until next month anyway so March he just needs to turn his phone off and ignore Bus Cook.

In other news, we lost JJ Arrington after the deal fell through. I wonder if the Cutler drama helped him out in anyway to tiptoe outta town.
