I don't think it's that fishy. Remember both Cassel and Brady were under the radar, and I think what they have in common with Orton is the attitude. Orton's career record is 21-12. His talent is questionable but to this point he's a winner. I think he works well in a NE like system too, and he stil has Marshall to throw to. At this point in there careers, I may even go as far as saying that Orton makes more sense than Quinn. I do still like Quinn's potential but adding everything up for the 2009 season and with Orton already on the team, it doesn't make much sense to me to try to go out and get Quinn.

It does make sense. The comparisons of Orton and Brady and Cassell are accurate.
I just hope your right.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
If there would have been an immediate trade for Quinn, I think we Bronco fans would have been estatic. Now though, the thought of that gravy pick in the first round makes the thought of hanging on to KO pretty significant.
Problem is now with the Quinn trade talk going on, will Orton demand to be traded?:wink:Comment

Whart, you keep hanging around, we're going to start charging you rent:wink:. I like having you around. You are respectful and you bring an objective view to the situations.

Plus I've got no ill will towards any team besides the Steelers... I try not to post my opinions too much in their team thread.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
salhus, I'm getting the feeling you're not in love with Orton, ha ha.
I think they go D with both first round picks (and probably the 3rd). I wouldn't be surprised if they take White but don't think he's being projected anywhere near that high.
Sorry I'm still here, hammer... it's lonely in the Ravens thread these days.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Laugh if you want, but it's the absolute truth. McDaniels looked hard at tape of the available quarterbacks from teams that made serious offers, players like Orton, Washington's Jason Campbell and Tampa Bay's Luke McCown. Every one of those teams was in the ballpark with an offer of at least two first-round draft picks and a quarterback.
But as the deal went down, McDaniels, who watched every offensive snap of more than 10 Bears games with Orton playing, got more and more impressed with Orton's arm, his decision-making and his ability to extend plays when the pocket broke down. You can think and I can think it's crazy he didn't like Campbell -- who got Washington off to a 6-2 start last year -- more than he liked Orton, but it's the unvarnished truth. McDaniels thinks he can win with Orton.Aaron

Uh oh, Av changed his avatar. The season has changed. I laugh because aside from draft speculation, the Broncos don't take up every one of my thoughts this time of year like they are doing this year. I am usually knee deep into Rockie thought.Comment

I actually watched no Spring training games this year with the Broncos' mess.

I don't foresee McDaniels carrying only 2 qb's like Shannahan would do.Comment
