A huge part of Geno's flaws have been his lack of confidence when things go south. He showed that even at WVU. He looked like a Heisman candidate then lost something like 5 straight games.

I don't think Jameis suffers from that. I just don't believe that he is a pro style QB.

Tampa Bay won today, so that means that the Jets are tied with the Jaguars for the 3rd worst record in football.

I'm starting to lean towards Amari Cooper over a QB.

Yeah well the Jets have to option of signing a free agent QB to lead the team. There should be about 4 decent players they could sign. Mark Sanchez and Brian Hoyer come to mind.

I think Jake Plummer would be a nice fit if they could talk him out of retirement.

I think that the entire population of New York can agree that Mark Sanchez will never be seen in a Jets uniform again
              Chicago Cubs
              Michigan Wolverines

Let some other team take a gamble on Hoyer.
And Sanchez will never play for the Jets.

I just feel that the Jets won't be getting the 1st pick and Mariota will be gone wherever they're picking.

When was the last collectively talented group of Jets WRs?

Keyshawn & Chrebet, Coles & Moss?

                Cooper is a stud.

There's also Davis from the Rams and possibly Bradford. Either one could be an option.

He didn't JUST PLAY FOR THE TEAM so he's not an option. It only makes sense that the Jets would throw a ton of money at Sanchez.

Brad, seriously stop posting this garbage.

So Im just wondering what you other Jets fans think about this. I think as long as the Jets get the 3rd pick behind the Raiders and Jaguars we will have the opportunity to take Mariota. Both the Raiders and Jaguars have their QBs. The threat to us would be Tampa if they end up at 3 and Jets at 4. Then Bucs take Mariota and we are left with a huge quandary. Do we take Winston Jameison or trade back and acquire more picks or take best player available. If we don't get Mariota with our 1st pick then we should go best OT available. We need to build our Oline back up and that is the key to our offensive success. Also, if for some reason the 49ers are dumb enough to let Harbaugh go then I think we throw everything at that guy to be our next coach. What do yall think?

*Also, if either the Raiders or Jaguars take Mariota ahead of us I think we should be on the phone trying to get Carr or Bortles imo. Of course if either one of those teams takes a QB in the 1st round we could all take solace in the fact that another organization is in worse administrative shape than we are.

Honestly I don't know if it matters who the Jets "draft" at QB unless they get someone in there to coach him up. Rex has never cared much about that side of the ball. If he sticks around it'd be better to find a vet with potential (Bradford maybe) or mid level vet, even though that's not usually the recipe for long term success.

I still don't think we'll be in a position to take Mariota. Tampa Bay is tanking and Tennessee is just garbage.

                          I'm all in on Cooper.

Take the best available CB in Round 2 and hope and pray that an above average QB is still on the board after that.

Shoot me but I still want to see what Geno is capable of with weapons before I completely write him off.

                          I'm just stubborn.

The Jets could pull off a trade with the Titans or Jaguars after the season is over. Who knows? We have seen a lot of draft day trades over the years.

I can't see Idzik giving up a 1st rounder next year just to move up 2-3 spots this year.

His philosophy of building through the draft seems to mean stockpiling picks as opposed to giving them up.

Mariota's a long shot. I'm not even thinking about him unless we lose this Sunday.

Re: Official New York Jets Thread

                                Welp.

So we're gonna play ourselves out of even getting Cooper.

I don't think we win again for the rest of the season.

So if we're slotted anywhere from 4-6, where do we look?

                                TB (QB)
                                TEN (QB, WR)
                                OAK (WR, OL?, HB?)
                                JAC (WR, HB?, DL?)
                                WASH (DB, OL?, DL?)

As bad as our defense is, I'd be furious if we spent yet another 1st round pick on a defensive player.

I'm still holding out hope for Cooper.
