It happened ages ago....back in 2019/2020 lol.

    McDavid/Draisaitl again.

Also 12/13 with St.Louis and Stamkos

So the 3 times its happened in the "modern era" were all shortened seasons.

I’m pretty sure he meant goals though

No... I missed to write the most important part of my question... lol...

Two years in a row was missing... I corrected my question now.

When did the same two players from the same team come first and second two years in a row?

The Oilers technically did it back to back, but it involved 3 players (Gretzky/Kurri one year, Gretzky/Coffey the other).

But last time it was the same teammates was actually Orr/Esposito in 73/74-74/75 and they also did it from 69-72!

              Leafs clinch north division title!

First division win since 99/00. Hopefully that means something, especially in a year where you're facing the very team(s) you won the season series against.

2 games left. Still a shot for the Jets to fall to 4th, but as of now, Leafs vs Habs is still the likeliest 1st round matchup.

Such a weird feeling going into next week.

2 completely pointless games for the Leafs. Just hoping nobody gets injured. It's the first time since 2019 where Leafs will be playing a game that has 0 impact on their standing.

McDavid gets 100th point on the season!

People can say what they want about the asterisks because of the lack of other teams they're facing, but McDavid with 100 points, Matthews with 40 goals, in just over 50 games played, and the league average in goals will be the lowest it's been in 5 years (which is surprising given how crazy the season started)

Averaging out through 82 games, McDavid would be projected for 155pts, Matthews at 66 goals.

Jennifer Botterill was spot-on with her thoughts about Tom Wilson tonight on HNIC.
Was also happy to see that Hrudey and even Ron McLean had similar opinions.

So I was completely wrong about this.
Listened to the Staph & Graph podcast this weekend and it certainly does sound like Dolan was the architect of that release statement.
Davison and Gorton did distance themselves from it, but only because they're part of the old boys club and wanted to be hireable for future openings.

Picks could've been better, but still not bad at all.

I missed Habs over Flames, Islanders over Flyers, Panthers over Stars.

Was way of on those last 2 picks, Habs over Flames still wasn't a big miss to me given how Flames in the end might actually finish with more wins than Montreal.

Jets currently losing to the Canucks, so the guaranteed north matchups might have to wait 1 more game. I just want this week to be done quickly but with as little issues as possible. For the Leafs, they're in, they're #1, they're all but likely playing Montreal. Just get some ice time in for those final 2 games, stay loose and healthy and that's it.

Andersen starting for the Leafs tomorrow for the first time in 2 months.

He had a below average conditioning stint in the AHL, lets see how he does here.

Even if he gets a shutout, I'm starting Campbell GM1 next week.

Leafs definitely play differently when Andersen is in net, and not in a good way, that's all I'm saying about that.

Lol, did Leafs just throw that game? Marner literally just passed the puck to the Sens in OT to set up an easy one time goal.

So which tie breaker are the Avs beating Vegas on if they win tonight? Seems like that would put both of them at 82 points?

                              Regulation wins.

NHL must be loving this Leafs vs Jets game where Paul Maurice basically admitted there's an agreement between the Leafs and Jets tonight so that neither team does anything which could be too physical/cause an injury.

So no late hits, guys crashing the net, probably no sort of slashes or anything either.

Essentially a preseason game in May.

Can't imagine how dead the Canucks vs Flames games will be, and even Oilers tomorrow.

Canucks have 4 games left. They're currently the 4th worst team. They cant get more than 2 points or else they'll end up 6-10th.

Flames have 3 games left. They're currently 10th, but they could fall to 11th or 12th with some wins, or if they lose every game in regulation, and Canucks get at least a point from Oilers, Flames wind up 9th.
