And that's it for David Rittich in the Leafs net.

Campbell cant manage the workload on his own, but Hutchinson and Rittich suck, and who even knows about Andersen anymore.

How is it possible to have 3 different goalies suck so much? And Rittich suddenly cant play when he's playing like a Vezina goalie anytime he faced the Leafs. Its literally the same teams he's playing now vs when he was in Calgary.

Cant believe another Leafs season is about to be wasted by poor goaltending.

Leafs win their first game in almost 2 weeks!

It's sad how much they remind me of the old Raptors. The one who could be the top team in the division, yet plays to the level of their opponent.

The NHL realizes there's other teams in the league right?

          Their last 4 tweets:
1.Hyman has been fined for high sticking Pionk
2.Edler will have a hearing for kneeing Hyman
          3.Edler suspended for kneeing Hyman
4.Thornton fined for interference on Perreault

That covers every player safety tweet in the last 12 days.

Gotta watch those goons closely right? How many times has Boston ever gotten fined or suspended?

And now Maurice is basically saying the Leafs play dirty, but says the NHL doesnt see it that way...

And Simmonds responds saying he went after Dubois for going after the goalie (and Simmonds got the penalty for retaliating).

Foligno and Dubois, former CBJ teammates, went at it during the game as well.

Definitely some bad blood building here.

This weeks edition of crazy games.

Stars are outshooting the Wings 41-6 after 2 and have 4PPs to the Wings 0.

            You know what that means.......

            Its 1-0 Detroit.

You know theres bad blood when Joe Thornton has snapped. He's going mad man at everyone.

He got a penalty for a nothing tap on the Jets.

He comes out of the box as the penalty expires, and once the whistle goes, he and Ehlers go at it, Ehlers spears him and BOTH get penalties.

Then, Simmonds and Dubois go at it and refs kick them out.

8 games left for the Leafs. Bring on the Habs in round 1! I want Jets vs Leafs after how this "series" went.

Another Hawks player done with hockey.

Andrew Shaw announced he's retiring due to health reasons.

Seabrook retired last month, and Hossa is on LTIR retirement (aka, will retire once his contract is up, but is on LTIR right now, basically just on Coyotes so Hawks don't have to use another LTIR spot).

                Hope Toews isn't next.

If the Leafs lose early again, I think it says more about the league.
The NHL should want a team that dazzles and displays skill to carry the torch.
But we all know when the playoffs start, teams will be allowed to maul them without any repercussions.

It's a combination of how the playoffs are vs the season, and the parity in the league. Such a fine line between good and great in hockey.

Let's not forget, Tampa got swept by Columbus the year before winning the cup. They made conference finals 3 times in the 5 seasons before winning, and the 2 times they didnt, they got swept or didnt make the playoffs.

Caps won a total of 6 rounds in a 10 year span before they won the cup. 0 years they made the conference finals in that span.

Blues missed the playoffs the year before they won

Yes, Pens won back to back cups, but in the 2010s, they also had 5 first round exits.

Even the Hawks were a similar way. Won a cup, lost next 2 years in round 1.

Hopefully Leafs can finally do something for a change. This might be their best shot ever at making the final 4. No team who'll push them around, no team who has their number during the season. But it is the Leafs. They can beat anyone and lose to anyone.

Well, sometimes. I agree that uncalled mauling is more common in the Conference Final and SCF than in the early rounds, and fatigued/hurt players combined with whistle-swallowing often results in a slog.

But I mean, Tampa were the league's most-talented and highest-scoring team last season and did win the Cup without ever really being threatened.

Just looked at standings for the season.

8 of the top 11 teams in the NHL this year are from the eastern conference.

Lots happening in Leafs vs Canucks but at same time, little to show for it.

Edler vs Simmonds fight where Edler just stood there and took it (he knew the fight was coming, but he didnt put up a fight, no pun intended).

First TV timeout didn't happen until the 8 minute mark remaining because they went several minutes with no whistle.

Canucks had just 2 shots in the period.

Edit-Flames actually beat the Oilers. Habs have a game in hand, but Flames are making up ground. Could we actually see Flames surpass the Habs? I actually want a Leafs vs Habs playoff match because this might be only time we get to see it.

Can't believe we're in May already. Sure, season was only 56 games, but feels like it went by so fast.

I think every playoff spot is basically locked, minus Preds/Stars. Only way someone drops out is a major collapse.

As for awards, it's looking like:

                              Hart-McDavid
                              Rocket-Matthews
                              Vezina-Vasilevskiy
                              Calder-Kaprizov
                              Norris-Fox
                              Adams-DeBoer

I know I'm gonna a jinx it, but Leafs are starting to play better. Foligno has made a difference. With all the vets they added, if that's not enough drive to win, don't know what else is.

TB outshot the Wings by more than double the amount of shots. Yet Wings not only won, but shutout the Lightning and won in a shootout after 8 rounds.
