New canucks schedule, season for the north is delayed even further.

Whoever wins the North in the playoffs will be at a disadvantage in the final 4 when they get through a condensed playoff schedule and whoever they play is rested.

      Historic game tonight.

Marleau will tie the all time NHL games played record.

Sure, people will saw Howe has the real record because seasons in his day were fewer games, and they dont include all his WHA games, but a record is a record.

I hate how Jagrs career ended so abruptly. He would've broken Howes number too.

Marleau has played with or against a third of all players in NHL history. Even playing against former WHA guys like Gretzky, Gartner and others.

Also of note: Marleau, Yandle, and Kessel are all on pace to break Doug Jarvis' iron man streak of 964 consecutive games played sometime during the 21/22 season.

Weren't Marleau and I think Yandle healthy scratches though?

Montreal playing Ottawa less than 24 hours after playing Calgary makes you wonder if the NHLPA is alive. I wonder if that's happened to other teams this season.

At least they were in the same city.

If there's one thing I hate about back to backs its when you play in one city one day, and another the next, and one or both of those opponents aren't playing back to backs.

That's something I hope comes out of this season. Reduce travel and make things more fair. Still have back to backs, but if you're playing the same opponent both games, it's fine.

Leafs playing a lose-lose series this week vs Canucks.

If they win, so what, they should be beating them.

If they lose.....add that to the list of "Leaf Blunders"

Could've sworn Babcock healthy scratched him with Leafs, guess not.

Although he did make his season debut last season a few games into it, so I guess that doesn't count?

3 power plays to start the game including a 5 minute powerplay, against a team who hasn't played in a month.

PP still struggling despite all that.

And Hyman could be done for the year.

And then Leafs allow 3 straight goals and lose.....

Dont know what else to say about that.

There are nights when the Leafs look like Stanley Cup contenders.

Then there are nights like tonight when I can see them losing in the first round.

If the Leafs lose in the 1st round, even 2nd round, I think major changes need to be made. Very short list of who should be safe, because this kind of star power losing year after year after year after year after year in 1st round is beyond embarrassing.

Honestly though, they played well last night. They just ran into a hot goalie.

But the thing is, you can't keep saying that every time they lose.

8 times (out of their 17 losses) the Leafs lost when the other goalie made at least 30 saves and had a SV% above .915.

It's happened just 5 times to the Jets and 5 times to the Oilers.

And obviously the playoffs can be all about riding a hot goalie. Jackets goalies had a .952 SV% vs the Leafs in that series, and that includes the 2 losses.

                              Max Domi scratched again.

Both Jackets deals (Laine and Domi) I thought they won them easily, turns out they lost them.

Laine could sign an offer sheet and try leaving, but Domi still has another year on his deal.

Who knows what happens with Jackets this offseason. Flames failing with Sutters return, Babcock didnt work out for the Leafs, Torts doesn't seem to be working in Columbus. Old school coaches dont seem to be best for today's NHL.

Puck over glass, as much as people hate the rule, it is the most obvious penalty in hockey.

So why is it when the Canucks flip it clear over the glass, refs didn't call it....

And Pens up 6-0 after 2.....but win 7-6!

I have 0 confidence of the Leafs winning a single round in the playoffs the way they've been playing.
