Just my opinion, but LACC looks boring. Other than the length and some elevation changes, what’s the challenge? Hardly any tree lined fairways and water.

Wyndham Clark with a big, emotional win.
That next Major just keeps barely evading Rory.Boston Red Sox

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
You just knew it was only a matter of time before Fowler would go off the rails. Once again the man with the Big Swing and the Big Mouth doesn't get it done. 9 years now? At least he makes all or at least most of the cuts in the big tourneys unlike Spieth. Superior play by Clark in crunch time very impressive.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
I don't care to see a US Open ever return to LACC. The course didn't show all that great on TV in my opinion, it obviously wasn't super-challenging, and there was absolutely zero atmosphere for such a huge tournament.
I wasn't there in person, but reading the coverage, it seems that it was a combination of the topography of the course (limiting the ability to get galleries closer to the action), as well as a relatively small number of tickets sold, combined with the fact that it seems 80% of the attendees were either corporate tent invitees or LACC members/member-adjacent. The whole thing ended up seeming like a private event for the LACC members, and not the biggest golf tournament in the country.
Happy for Clark but the USGA committing to coming back to LACC for the US Open seems like a mistake at this point. Although I suppose they're probably pretty happy with their decision$.Comment

I usually watch on mute and liked seeing late golf, so I had no idea there was a volume issue with planes flying around, hopefully 16 years is enough time to figure things outWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Great win in tough conditions. Not saying a thing about Rory and Spieth. I don't think range finders have any place in professional golf sorry.Comment

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
Other than the PGA they aren't? What does this have to do with The Open?
And if you are insulating those two use them during the PGA that's fine but everyone does.
I have no disagreement with your opinion on them by the way, just not sure why they were randomly brought up here.Comment
