Weirdly enough there was some activity on pga tour’s Facebook page today. Albeit just a cover photo change, but an announcement during launch week of 2k23 would make the week interesting.

I believe so. But yeah, the fact that a 3-iron rolls out just a couple feet seems a little bit odd, when chips run out for days. I do like how much more wedges spin...that seems more realistic to me.

But being able to stick long-iron shots into greens is going to cut down on strategic play. It will take the bite out of long par-4s, and make short-ish par-5s guaranteed eagles.

That would be true on the easier difficulties but not the harder ones. I don't know about you guys but I cannot come close to the accuracy of any of the better players who have posted videos on gameplay. I was playing Pro in 21 moved over to Master and find scores have gone from c. 67 68 to mid '70's.
So I think only the better players will be sticking long irons on approaches into the greens.

I am nowhere near the top-level of players in 2K21, but I rarely had any issues breaking 70 on Master, and typically shot sub-65 on Pro.

I didn't play a ton of events on the TGCTours last season, but my stats there show that my low round in competition was 60, and my average score was 64.3. And that was a mix of rounds on both Master and Pro. And I was only in the Challenge Circuit - I flight, so I am not anywhere near the top tier.

I feel like I'd be able to get pretty close to hitting shots similar to what Respawn was doing, on either Master or Pro - consistency would be better on Pro, for sure. So I don't think you have to be a really great player to achieve the tempo he was able to in that video.

The other thing I forgot to factor into Respawn's video was that he was using the 2K23 in-game practice range. Therefore, we don't really know what the greens were set at, in terms of softness and speed. He could have been hitting into soft, slow greens, making the shots stop sooner. And since there's no way to adjust speed and firmness in the range, we'll never know.

A Game Rant article states, "In PGA Tour 2K23, Jordan will be a pre-order bonus and can be used in the career mode of the game, although his attributes are not known as of yet."

I don't put much stock in Screen Rant and Idk if Game Rant is the same. When I first read it, I assumed it was wrong because I thought you could use in-game golfers in other modes but career mode was just for created MyPlayers.

Weird!

It would be hilarious if you can't play as an actual professional golfer in MyCareer, but you could possibly play as a 59-year-old retired basketball player in it...haha

I could be wrong Beach but I want to say it's a mistake on their (Game Rant's) part. Idk why but I'll still go to Screen Rant and read about an upcoming movie/streaming series and they have a bad reputation for getting things wrong (as in passing off speculation as fact).

I noticed that the other (forward) tee box markers are still there during tournaments (e.g. the Valspar has the paint can tee markers at all of the forward tees as well as the tournament tee). This is a minor nitpick, but nevertheless highly annoying to me. They don't put tee box markers on all of the tees during a PGA tournament, it's pretty basic stuff...

Sounds like the NextMakers have copies of the final game now, and can begin live streaming Monday morning.

CrazyCanuck said he's recording content this weekend, but will be doing an early morning live deep dive into the course designer on Monday at 10am EST/7am PST on YouTube.

Is it an improvement or am I imagining a better look to the bunker lips on some courses. Seeing more shadow casting from the bunkers edge that looks more consistent with a real course.

The game is better the golfer animation alone is worth the upgrade. Add in 3 click? I pre ordered it figured I was gonna buy it anyway might as well get the GOAT.

Caved and got the Tuesday release too. Especially now I’m laid up with an injury and my golf season is done for the year. Looking forward to this release. I am itching for a new golf game.
