TGCT forums are back. Only a couple days of posts are missing.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread

An HB dev chimed in at the restored TGCT forums that the following is part of the update:

"Tons of new rocks,30 new trees and the additional canvas walls added back in to the designer."

Is there a full patch notes somewhere?

I haven't seen any yet. There are no notes at their discord channel, which is usually the first place they post them.

But others have said that new trees, rocks, one new bridge, and a couple other assets have been added to the designer.

Some new courses are in the rotation for ranked matchmaking:

            - TPC Twin Cities
            - TPC Southwind
            - Riviera
            - TPC Deere Run
            - Pebble Beach
            - Detroit Golf Club
            - TPC San Antonio

Not patch notes, but CrazyCanuck1985 did a video of all the new items found in the course designer:

Hadn't seen this discussed too much before, but I'm curious as to what some of you put more stock into--putt path or putt weight? Seems as if people on reddit prefer putt weight regardless of other factors.

Because I (rhythm archetype) don't have too much of an issue with the ball rolling into 2024, I've been more into putt path.

I'm guessing it might be different depending upon whether you use analog or 3 click but overall putt path seems to be more important on uphill or flattish putts. Downhill putts are a different story. It is hard for me to get the power right.

I would guess most people would say putt path is more important though.

Try Greensman. I would bet after using that build for a while you will come to the same conclusion I have. Your inputs are 99% of what results you get. The only real difference I am seeing after 4 plus months into this game is the only fittings that really matter are power.

I also focus more on putt path, but try to keep both weight and path at pretty balanced numbers. I have the Rhythm archetype, too.

Also...apparently part of that update yesterday was a new 2K official course, with the fact that it appears to be a branded/sponsored course in partnership with MasterCard? There are the famous red/yellow circle logos around it EVERYWHERE.

                    "MasterCard Mountain Valley CC"...

Since ranked matchmaking started, I've noticed that others are hitting their drives 30-40 yards longer than mine. Is this due to certain archetypes / skill points?

Yes, and also the fact those players are using the consumable golf balls. Likely, the legendary Aviator ones. They add something like 20 yards of flight.

Just an FYI...some pretty nice flamingo themed PUMA apparel got added to the pro shop today, just in time for the Arnold Palmer Invitational!

Got some real winners over there at the nearly dead HB Forum. Jeez Louise.

Just fired this up for the first time in quite a while…kudos to 2k. This game is playing and looking a lot better after a few patches. Screen tearing is gone and ball roll looks a lot more organic.

The game does have its problems but I don't get all the hate it gets. The game play is the best I've seen in any golf game to date and there are a lot of very good courses to play.
