This sums it up. Vettel isn't the boss. His job is to get the car the team builds home safe to make the team money so they can provide him and Webber with cars they are more likely to get home in 1st and 2nd. Vettel potentially wrecking them both seriously undermines that. It was a potential 61 point swing with Hamilton and Rosberg both in 3rd and 4th. Vettel's job is whatever his boss says his job is and the rest of us frequently don't like things our boss tells us to do either. Vettel will have to get over that.

Re: F1/IRL/All Other Forms of motorsports Thread
This is an interesting conversation. I really don't care that Vettel went all out to win the race, but I understand where Red Bull is coming from. The whole thing with them and the Mercedes team was just so odd, especially since last year's race there was just off the wall different. It should be interesting to see how China plays out, and I'm still pulling for McLaren even though they seem to have a God awful car.
As for IndyCar... it's almost dead to me. I tried to get some enthusiasm for the St. Petersburg race, but those street races are as dull as dishwater and I just can't waste my time on them. IndyCar is doing everything in its power to become irrelevant, and the fanbase is so damn Indy-centric and snobbish to other forms of racing that it makes the whole thing unbearable. I'll probably still go to the Texas race because my Pops likes to go, but I'm trying to save up for a trip down to Austin in a few years.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

That wasn't the car. They just muted it and inserted a Tornado siren.Comment

Holy **** @ Vettel's charge for the podium at the end of the race. That guy was tearing it up. I've become a Lewis Hamilton fan, so I was happy to see that he was able to hold him off and secure 3rd. Good race. I also felt bad for Webber being taken out early. I kinda pull for him too now since he seems to be Red Bull's red headed stepchild.Comment

Re: F1/IRL/All Other Forms of motorsports Thread
I was kinda like WTF when I heard them tell Vettel to go after Hamilton when he was like 14 seconds behind, but apparently they knew what they were talking about. Too bad Perelli apparently don't know how to make tires last more than 6 laps.
For all the time they spend doing things like designing wings, Kimi didn't seem to need his in one piece, he did just fine with that piece bent up the whole race. Alonso was far better than everyone else, well deserved result for him. Vettel leads Kimi by 3 points. He'd be down by 4 if he stayed behind Webber last race as instructed. Just throwing that out there. Glad there's a race next week instead of having to wait 3.Comment

Re: F1/IRL/All Other Forms of motorsports Thread
I love how NBCSN shows this races Sunday afternoon on a time delay (in addition to the live feed).
Anyways, Vettel's drive at the end was nuts. When they mentioned how Vettel might catch Hamilton with three laps left and 10+ seconds out, I was confused, but those fresh tires almost made it happen. It appeared that Vettel ran wide on the corner just after he passed the lapped Caterham; otherwise, he probably gets Hamilton in the DRS zone on the backstretch.Comment

Re: F1/IRL/All Other Forms of motorsports Thread
vettels effort at the end of last nights race is built for a formula 1 game mode. I would play that over a thousand times. I love NBCSN 's coverage of the F1 this season, I still watch all of the events live though, despite them showing replays at noon. This is really the first time I've ever had a chance to catch formula 1, and the structure this league has is so right, it's a remarkably better product than nascar, imo. I just can't wait for more everyday. I can't wait for them to bring this event to austin, I plan to go if I don't have any obligations myselfRed LegendComment

Makes me smile to see more OS members getting into F1. My favorite form of motorsports by far and away. I watch the races twice usually and all of the practice and qualifying sessions. Every minute.
Fresh new Option tires vs worn primes..... you can catch anyone fairly quickly. I was actually shocked that Vettle didn't pass Lewis.
You guys who don't have F1 2012 should REALLY consider buying it. Its the best 4 wheel console racer IMO.GT: BIG CAROLINA23

Plus if you're into the strategy of F1, F1 2012 nails all of it. From tires to fuel mixtures to the timing of your flying lap in qualifying to starting on tires on which you qualified, this game simulates all of it.
F1 2012 also features a ton of assists that tailor the driving simulation to any level you want. And this game still is a fun challenge even with ABS and traction control on. You also can vary the skill level of AI cars in online races so you always have someone to race against, human or AI.
I would love to have an OS F1 2012 league if enough OS cats were interested.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Abso-effing-lutely. F1 2012 is a very fun game to drive but unsurpassed as a pure RACING game in this console generation.

Havent tried online, but do wonder how that experience would go. I would more than likely wreck everyone in the first lap.
