I'm really tempted to pick this one up. I've seen a lot of good reviews and forum feedback.

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
in the middle of a 20% race at montreal. doing my first ever f1 races against professional AI (tried extreme or whatever and it was a little too hard) and I raced my way up to 6th until the tyres started to wear. felipe massa came flying up on me in 12 and 13 and clipped my front end and sent me hard into the wall losing my wing. im back in 20th now and normally id restart the race but this game is way too much fun. if you're on the fence about buying it id highly recommend getting it. This coming from a guy who no matter what bought Nascar the game 2011 and was extremely disappointed.Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
Did some time trials and practice sessions with all of the aids off.
PC Steam Version
G27 wheel
Hard settings
Turning only 1:31's on Melborne which means I need to really practice. Played around with career without saving just to see what the A.I. is like. They seem to drive flawless but that was only in a 10% race. Finished near the back after losing it in the final turn at Melborne. Was holding onto 12th but finished 22nd.........talk about choking lol.
This week I will continue to practice and then start my career.Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
I just wanted to throw out for the guys who bought the game and are now playing it but are not really F1 fans. Think about possibly watching one of the F1 races. It really will give you and idea of how the cars really do corner on rails and the technology put into them as well as other than Vettel/Red Bull completely dominating this season, it has been a fairly exciting season.
They are in Singapore this weekend and Vettel could wrap up the championship as well:-(

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
I can't get over how much improved this game is this year. After torching the AI in the Williams, I bumped the AI to Professional and qualified 18th after putting in what I thought was as quick as I could get
Had an excellent start and was up to 9th through corner 4, then begun the battle between myself and Rosberg. He was WAY faster then me, and since he was on my gearbox lap in and lap out, he was able to use DRS. Literally every corner, he was making a run to the inside, or peeking to the out if I was protecting the inside. He ended up getting he better of me eventually, and I was barely abl to hold off the Renault behind him.
That was one thing I NEVER got last year, was good battles with the AI...love this year's version!Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
Only played a few hours but my favorite thing: how easy the cars are to get into and drive, even with all assists off, but how extremely difficult they are to master.
I'm playing on 360 with a controller, and consider myself to be a pretty average player at best. But I am able to drive pretty well with all assists off, main difficulty is learning to control the throttle through all different corners. With TC off, if you just press the throttle a tiny fraction to much or too soon in the middle of a corner, you'll start to spin. But it's not impossible to catch your spin. In 2010 I felt like whenever the car started to slide or spin it was over, no way I could catch it. But this year you can catch it and if you're really careful you can powerslide through some corners.
Can't wait to get into career mode with this.Comment

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
Pretty meh. The car handling is better, scripted spin outs are gone, but there's still no AI mistakes and mechanical failures. I've finished 4 races (3 of them under heavy rain) and all 24 cars completed full distance, this is bull**** and spoils the game for me.
Also the AI is still poor at overtaking so when on start I get in front of some better cars they stay behind me while everyone in front are building a huge gap.Comment

So far it sounds pretty good. Any early reports of bugs/glitches? Have they fixed the issues plaguing last years title?
I'm very encouraged by what I hear.PS4 - CoastalRyan

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
I can consistently turn 1:30 sec laps and was able to get 1 lap in the 1:29s in my first session. I raced at Melbourne online yesterday and in practice I ran a couple 1:28 second laps. I was excited until a couple guys started turning 1:25 second laps!

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion
LOL I wasnt trying to brag. I couldnt believe guys I was racing against online were running 1:25 second laps in qualifying. I have a long way to go before running fast laps like that. Gonna start by using DRS and Kers more in qualifying. I get so focused on running the right line that I forget about the DRS and Kers!Comment
