I really like the black and white #12. Very cool!

I saw some pictures of the developers playing the game with a wheel and a friend of mine plays with the wheel and is loving it. He says it's like 10 times better then last year. I don't use a wheel, never could get used to them my self.

It looks like Jimmie's 48 car.

One of my all time favorites is the old #12 Alltel, Ryan Newman.

I messed with it a little bit, but it's hard to create when you have 1 1/2 year old wanting to read "I see me" all the time. Hopefully this weekend I will get a much larger chance to mess with it.

It does, I considered trying to do stripes as well. The Kobalt stuff was the first car I did (then just played with the colors) I got more comfortable with the editor as I did the DTV, Clemson and OS cars.

Can anyone let me know if they fixed these 2 things that drove me crazy about last years game?

                    1. Does the AI's tired degrade? I hated that my tires would start to break down and my lap times would slow but the AI's never dropped one bit.

                    2. Does the field start spreading out after some laps? Last year it seemed that the entire field was 2 seconds apart from leader to last place.

Question 1 is yes, the tires do seem to wear down on the AI. I know there have been a few times that late in a run I have started catching a guy in front of me, or pulling away from the guy behind me. I'm sure there someone else will say it don't happen like that, but for me it does. Also I see other cars getting loose in the corner as the race goes on, which would be a sign of that happening.

Question 2 is no doubt about. The AI does spread out a lot more. Maybe not as much as they should, but it is a lot better. You still get bunches of cars together at times, but that happens in real racing also. The green flag racing on this game is awesome, it's a lot of fun, it just turns into a mess sometimes, well most of the time on pit stops. Although I have had 2 or 3 races now with no pit stop issues.

Ohh yeah... Good luck getting your G27 to work.I hope you have more luck with your wheel than me. This game appears to be made with the controller in mind.

Every video that I (maybe there are some but I have yet to see 1) have seen of the devs playing they all had controllers (even yesterday in their chase race).

According to their forums they know there is a problem with wheels so lets see...

Edit: prior comment was not gamplay related. If you want the best A.I racing goto the Autoclub and do a 50% race with tire X2. best racing on this game so far. The A.I was spread out and taking different lines. It was a thing of beauty. No pit road entry or exit issues at all. Maybe they need to look at the A.I from this track and see what is different.
I noticed a few listed their G27 setups and said it works fine. I am definitely eager to mess around with this tomorrow evening when I get time.

is this game good for new comers, i heard NHL was extremely nice to newcomers, so is nascar the same?...i just need a good reason to buy a game where i'm not the target audience.
i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.

Actually it's pretty good. There are assists in the game to help you drive and as you get better you can turn them off.

Re: I have the NASCAR The Game: Inside the Line

I played a 100 lap race at Michigan yesterday. Had an absolute riot. I actually left tire wear and fuel usage on 1x, or.. coulda been 2x, not sure. Anyways, we didn't have any green flag stops, which was a bummer, I wanted to see what actually happened during them, but it seemed the AI lead lap cars always got impatient while passing lapped cars and caused some wrecks. I didn't bother to qualify so I started 43rd and I made my way up to about 5th by the time the first caution came out around lap 31. Everyone pitted, and I came out in 6th. I shot to the lead within two laps of the restart, but during that stop I added some tape, 10% to be exact, and I just couldnt keep up. The AI ended up blowing by me putting me down to around 8th. I held my position there, and the AI started dying off late in the run, and in dealing with lapped traffic and I shot back out to the lead. Around lap 56 or something another caution came out.

I then made a mistake, and I chose to pit, then I pressed B to look back at my car to see if everyone was coming with me, and it aborted me out of my pit stop. So... I stayed in the lead, but I needed tires and gas in about 12 laps. I decided there was nothing I could do now but just deal with it, so I did, and I got lucky, 8 laps later, another caution came out as one of the back cars spun out. So, I came in, and got my tires.

20 laps later, around lap 85 or so, another caution as Edwards dumped a lapped car. Everyone came in to pit, I was running about 8th because I was able to make up so much time on fresher tires, and my tire wear was looking really good, so I only took right sides, came out of the pits 3rd, blew by the leaders with about 9 to go, held on to win the race.

I had an absolute riot. I was surprised to see the difference adding that 10% of grill tape actually made on my car. I just was killing my right front after the change. Once I set it back to where it was, made a world of difference for me. Had some great racing up through the field, and when in the top 10 trading the lead back and forth over the couple runs.

All I can say, I dont normally run races that long, but I may start, because I had a riot. It seems like I got lucky without the green flag stops since everyone seems to say its an issue, but if they fix that, and the few other issues, you can have some fantastic races.
