Re: Tony Stewart Strikes and Kills On-Foot Driver

Tony Stewart not racing at Michigan this weekend. Also, NASCAR has made a rule that drivers are not allowed to get out of their cars after incident, unless there are extenuating circumstances (fire, smoke in cockpit)
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

in one of the related stories. "Formula 1 Racer Decapitated After Violent Crash Flips Car".

Massa sure is one hell of a talker for someone who was decapitated.

Well they said he hit the gas to notch the car over to the left, and then the rear end kicked out. In other words. Kevin was infront of his car, so he hit the gas and it moved the front end down but not the back end. It was either going to be a head on hit or a rear tire hit. I guess neither would have been ideal though..

The Grand Jury has stated there is no evidence to back up pursuing any charges against Tony.

Also Ward Jr. had marijuana in his system at the time of the crash...enough to impair I think I read. Wonder what his family will have to say about that after railing on Stewart for so long.

I was surprised whenever I seen that because I don't think it was ever mentioned that he has smoked pot before the race up until today.

The family won't change their stance. Regardless of video evidence disproving their opinions, they just want to see someone else taken down for their son's stupid action.

Also, for those who quit following the "case". The driver in front of Tony, Chuck Hebing, was asked to testify to the Grand Jury.

I would assume whatever he had to say played a large part into why no charges were filed, along with video evidence.

Yeah, just saw that. Crazy that Ward was apparently under the influence at the time. Anyway, here's a link.

Tony Stewart won't be charged in death of Kevin Ward Jr.

To answer the question about what the family would say, I'm watching NASCAR America right now and they released the family statement still blaming Tony for the death.

Any acknowledgement from them regarding marijuana being in their son's system during the race, enough to impair judgement--like deciding to leave his car and step in front of another?

                            I'm guessing not.

Then that will lead to a wrongful death suit in the hopes of getting some $$$$, either thru the court or "hush money".

I consider "hush money" being someone trying to cover something up. They will eventually try and get money but some people believe Tony was going to give them money anyways.
