Touchy, touchy. I guess "Feelings" should be the theme song for this thread.

So far, I've seen zero specifics about the gameplay improvements from GT 3 to GT 4 from ANYONE in here, lest I risk offending someone by singling them out.

That's all I'm curious about. What are the significant gameplay improvements in GT 4? I'm not talking more cars, more tracks and prettier graphics -- that's not gameplay. And we all know this game has no online play and no damage model. So I'm talking specifics about car handling, computer car AI, etc., racing logic, proper vehicle classification so you simply can't dominate the competition with horsepower, which was a HUGE flaw in GT 2.

    Anyone? Bueller?

    Take care,
    PK
From what I've read over at gtplanet the physics are a lot better. Weight transfer and breaking seemed to be the two biggest. The AI supposedly still sucks though and it seems that you can still win by out horsepowering the competition.

From the looks of it the overall *driving* experience is a lot nicer but the competition side of it is perhaps still lacking (unless you count your own time trials).

Perosnally I only had time to race about 30 seconds before having to leave to work. When I get home I plan to put some time into it.

Why do I have to give YOU specifics on why I"M enjoying MY GAME. Who the hell are you?

The overall gameplay is tigher and does feel more realistic even without damage. Tons of things to do, go look at a features list or something. Thats about all you get from me. I don't have to justify to a nobody why I like a game I spent $50 on.

I gotta say, I haven't been a GT fan since 2, hated 3. But 4 pulled me right back in, the game is amazing. The game feels like a race to me, more so than any game I've played in awhile. I'm having a great time with it when I thought I would have hated it.

Someone explain that one to me!

Now that I've run a few races I have to agree it's certainly not a driving simulator. However, it's just a game and a damn fun one at that. I play games to have fun myself. If total realism is the ultimate goal one might consider taking up the real sport. I may get flamed for that and I'm just making a general statement here but while realism is a factor in games, fun certainly overrides it.

All that having been said............I do wish the cars weren't indestructuble...
              anyway, back to the fun.

I agree with what you said. Realism is very important, but I know for damn sure when I play Ghost Recon 2 and get shot 3 or 4 times and keep going it's not real. Or when I play any space shooting game that it's not real.

GT4 is quite realisitc, maybe not enough for some people, but I can go out in my drive way, put my key in my car and drive it down the street to get the feel of a realistic drivng game, and I can assure that there is no driving game that feels that real.

Hmm ... isn't that what gamers do in a forum when other gamers ask them for specifics about a game? Give those details to them?

Plus, you stepped out and said how GT 4 was better than GT 3 in the gameplay department, and I simply asked you for specifics, and you reacted like I had sex with your little sister. Talk about thin skin -- blood must gush from your knee scrapes.

And you've told me all I need to know by saying the "gameplay is tighter and feels more realistic." And "tons of things to do," which is no different than the three previous GT games.

In other words, you have no racing or vehicle characteristc specifics to offer. Enjoy the eye candy!

I don't feel I need to waste my time and give you of all people my opinion on the game. Why so you can turn around and say what you have been repeating 1000X already? Its a waste of time telling you anything about this game you have already formed your opinion.

Its sad because its clear what you're trying to do. Its killing you inside that people like this game that you hate so much. Your mind is going crazy and you just have to ask why. Its just so hard for you to accept that people like the game even though it doesn't have the features you have been crying about. Get over your self not everyone shares you opinion.
