I finally managed to score a Wii this morning from CircuitCity.com. Did anyone else order from there? I am slightly concerned about two things:

1) They made me buy a bundle (Console, extra remote, extra nunchuck, zelda). The site seemed to indicate that, with the exception of the extra remote, you could take zelda and the extra nunchuck out and still get it - but when I removed Zelda from my cart, the Wii console got removed too. So I decided not to fool around and just bought everything. Problem is I already have Zelda. Anyone know if CircuitCity will allow me to return this single item at a local store?

2) CC.com states on their Wii console page that it comes with: Wii Console, Wii Remote, Owner's manual, Basic Warranty - 12 months parts / 12 months labor. This doesn't mean I'm not getting Wii sports? They just forgot to mention it, I assume?

Did all you Wii owners purchase "protection plans" or the like? Circuit City's costs $60 for two years, but I'm hesitant to get it because I've heard that Nintendo products are pretty solid and rarely have problems if they've made it through the first year.

Your Wii box should have a sticker on it saying Wii Sports is included. I don't think you can buy a system without that extra game right now. I bet you can take back the Zelda game, especially if you still have the receipt from the original one. I also think you'll be happy with the extra remote and nunchuck because you'll get to play the Wii Sports games with another person.

Well I decided not to sell my system after all and opened it up instead. I know there's a lot of debate regarding next-gen and last-gen graphics and it does not bother me at all. The graphics look slightly better than the Gamecube graphics and more on par with Xbox graphics. I have no problems playing games on this system if they are fun and innovative, which is what Nintendo does best.

The controller is fun to use and does add some to the gameplay but at other times takes away from it as well. The only game I purchased was Zelda and my understanding was this game was built around the Game Cube. Hopefully they'll flesh out some of the minor issues with it, which primarily has to do with the camera.

Creating Mii's are pretty fun. I made one that looks exactly like Wacko Jacko I kid you not. If I decide to bite the bullet and buy the USB ethernet adapater I can send it off to you guys.

Wii Sports is a blast, too bad it's only mini games but i'm really looking forward to Wario Ware on this system that should be a blast as well as Animal Crossing.

Some have complained the system runs rather warm borderline hot. I have not seen that personally the system always runs barely warm and is whisper quiet.

No. I have about that much time left until I do beat it.

How many hours(play time) do you have in Zelda.I heard it's like 70 hours long.My kid has 40 hours in i have 21

I finished the game in about 45 hours give or take one or two. I didn't get close to getting all the Poe souls and I'm still missing 8-10 bugs in the bug collection.


As for the warm thing, I've noticed when its in standby, the system is warm, but when I'm playing a game the system is essentially at room temperature to the touch.

Hopefully I'll finally be able to get one now the holiday season is over. Anyone have any info on the next release.

IMO it's the controller. Take that away and you have a smaller sleeker GameCube 1.5 with internet access.

For me it's because it's not the "same ole same ole".

Example is Madden. I have NEVER had as much fun with Madden as I've had with the Wii version.
It's a whole new experience as you are controlling games in a whole new way. I simply can't wait for an MLB or PGA game.
Wii is a must own system IMO.

The Wii is about the experience and gameplay. Where the other consoles are more about "I can do this and that faster and ours can do this and ours can do that" and most of it is just add ons unrelated to gaming.
Don't get me wrong I love my 360 and couldn't do without it but the Wii is well worth the purchase.

As much flack as Nintendo has taken since the N64, I have continued to purchase their consoles and games because, to me, they make fun games. I spend more time playing Nintendo games than both Sony and Microsoft games. You can see that in a number of ways. Either i am old school and therefore go with my nostalgia, or the games are just more fun to me.

In a world where it seems there needs to be a 'winner' with everything, i think i am in the crowd that really just doesn't care as long as I maximize my entertainment dollar.

If the virtual boy had several games that i just could not put down ( seizures and all) i would have probably picked one up as well. Hell, since i got Portrait of Ruin, my DS has been the #1 system being played the last 2 weeks or so.

I want a freaking Wii. I saw a few on ebay for $450. Not desperate yet though.
