Re: Official Wii Discussion
Man what a beating. I just didn't get up early enough apparently. I figured some place would have them.
I went to two circuit citys, two targets, and toys r us and no signs of the wii at any.
WalMart will have them at 8am on Wednesday though. I went to a couple last night and there were signs.
By the way, Toys R Us ****ing blows. They had boxes on the shelf outside the game area so I thought, "Heh. Cool." and as I walked closer and picked up the box I saw the sticker that said "For Display Purposes Only".
Damnit!
Then I walked in the game area and saw a few Wii's in the Wii section. Score!!!
So I walked up to them and picked one up and saw the sticker on the box saying "Sorry, Out of stock"
That's ****ing junior league, Toys R Us. ****ing junior league.
The shelves weren't even full of fake Wii boxes, there were only a couple, making you think that there were only a couple left.Last edited by snivlem; 12-03-2006, 12:34 PM.I'm sofa king, we Todd Ed.Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
I didn't think there would be lines. They're now bigger than the release lines! I called stores within 10 minutes of opening, (8 stores about an hour away) and they ALL were sold out.
I'm repeating this but I'm so frustrated! Target said to come back at 1 incase someone doesn't pick up their Wii. There's probably a line for that hope right now!Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
I hit the local Best Buy at 9:30 just to see what was up. Only 12 people on line for a 10:00 am opening. Then the manager came out and said that the store had none. I'm just going to wait until when you can just walk into Best Buy and grab one, it's just not worth the trouble.Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Anyone here play Madden Wii? If so can you give a good "review" of it? If there is already one on her just point me to it.
Having a BLAST with Wii Sports right now, even though I haven't beat my oldest daughter yet in bowling.Joshua:

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Well guys, I have finally picked up a Wii. Went to the Best Buy at about 12:30 or 1am, and saw that the Toys R Us right by there had people in front. We decided to go visit them and sure enough, they were all in line for the Wii. The guy at the front of the line had talked to the manager and said that they were getting them FOR SURE, so my buddy and I decided to stay there. The man in the front of the line made a list that everyone was signing when they came to wait in line, so my buddy and I were 7th and 8th.
Let me tell you.....the wind @ Porter Ranch was UNBEARABLE. 70mph wind gusts, consistent 40-50mph winds throughout the whole night. It was pretty damn crazy, but I brought a portable cot and my down comforter and a blanket, so I was fine. Time was going so slow, but a LOT of people ended up showing up. The list at the end of the wait was 70+. They ended up getting 48 bundles in, so people were cut off. The store normally opens @ 9, but they let us inside (because the weather conditions were cold and windy) at around 7ish while actually starting the sales @ 8:30am.
They forced a stupid bundle on you, which was the system, a controller cover, Marvel Alliance, and a buyer protection plan (stupid thing), for like 330 or something like that. I also picked up Zelda, but I'll be trading in Marvel for an extra nunchuck and controller from somewhere (which, btw, they didnt have ANY extras of!). The total came out to 408 or something.
Anyways, the system is so damn fun. My little bro and I have been playing Wii Sports for two hours, and I'm damn tired. Feels great to have the thing finally!Comment

Our TRU offered the bundle but you didn't have to get it.Joshua:

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Ugh, ours was requiring purchase in bundle-form. Anyone know where I can return the game for an extra nunchuck/controller without any real issue?Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Well guys, I should have a Wii by the end of the week, or the first part of the following week. I have a friend online, who is a store manager of an EBGames. He's putting one to the side, and shipping it to me at cost. Didn't have to go the eBay route, and all I have to pay is shipping. Not a bad deal at all, now I just need to get an extra Wiimote/Nunchuck and Zelda, and I'm set.Comment
