Correct, you cannot use my rosters anymore even with the datel kit. MS wanted to blacklist people transfering saves which includes rosters, i believe over achievements and Live games which is understandable.

Where i disagree with some of the prior posters, having to get a new console everytime they update the list is not an effective workaround in my book and makes the PS3 an option to me until they do the same there. Thats great that Linder can maybe get his Console ID removed from the list, but in any given game we have 3-5 legit rosters made and none of them have friends at microsoft.

Just a get a PS3 dude. **** Microshaft! I can't understand why people are letting Microsuck bully them around like this. Their systems aren't reliable and they screw us over on transfering files to each other.

Do they really deserve our money?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

            1) Stick with the 360, use the workaround and hope that MS doesnt do anything dumb like this again in the fall update.

            or

            2) Sell your 360 and games on Ebay or at Gamestop and pay the difference that it takes to buy a ps3 and games.

I think most people will choose 1. I'm choosing 1 unless the workaround stops working when NCAA drops in July.
I'm frustated with this. I'm also confused as to what to do at this point. I've went through several systems. I finally picked up the Elite, which I really like but this Roster thing which may or may not be a problem by the time NCAA 08 comes around. No one knows 100% for sure if there is s workaround. I think I should dump this thing now.
Am I jumping the gun?????? I panicked and put my Elite on Craigslist.com a couple of hours ago. I have the warranty at EB games and am going to get a new one using my warranty. I have a guy who is willing to trade me straight across for a PS3 for a new Elite. He has an extra controller and 3 Blu-ray movies. The only problem is he does not have a warranty. It is the 60gb version. Should I pull the trigger?

Hell no dude. I wouldn't trust that guy. First of all it doesn't have a warranty with it and secondly, why would anyone in their right mind want to trade a 60 GB PS3 and 3 Blu-Ray movies and an extra controller for a 360??

Just sell or trade it in and get your own PS3. It'll be worth it.

I'm sure in that case they could've just found a way to block the copyrighted material by itself and left the roster transfers alone.

Yeah it sounds to good to be true. I'm thinking about just bitching to EB since I only bought this Elite a couple of weeks ago and see if I can just get full credit by taking it back. They are aware of my luck with thesse things. My son has a 360 so it's not like there is not one in our home.

                    Thanks for the advice. Peace!!!!

Well, if the guy doesn't have a warranty, thats still ok, because you still have a one warranty with sony, you just need to hope he has proff of puchase...Jsky, I would go the ebay route, you most likely will get more money.

I think its tough for anyone to really tell you want to do. In my case, i am considering buying the PS3 but keeping the 360 as well. Also, it would let me play those exclusives on the PS3 of course. I will admit i really have not considered the PS3 strongly until now but sports gaming is huge for me, add in system noise, DDEs, this blacklist thing and the PS3 is starting to be an option. This from a typical hardcore MS guy, i have stock in the company and even bought the Zune

SJ does have a point, what do roster files have to do with copyrighting, I mean these guys bust there butts doing these rosters, plus without these guys working on these rosters, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't even buy the sports games like NCAA without knowing there will be some good soul out there doing the rosters.

In all seriousness, we make up less than 2% of their customer base. If you had to make a business decision that would adversely affect 2% of your customer base to curb software piracy, and ultimately money, then you wouldn't hesitate to do it either.

you are right, but in that 2% I think were all hardcore sports gamers, compared to the casual 98%. I think you have to keep your Hardcore gamers happy.

That 2% can really come back and bite you in the ***. I wonder how this will play out in the end.

If nothing is done before the major sports titles release, I think it'll have more of a negative effect on the 360 than you might think. The sports gaming community is bigger than you might think as well.
