Yeah it is 1080p Samsung. I have my 360 on the VGA input. Looks great.

For whatever reason the PS3 like to render the signal to 720p, even with games that are supported at 1080p like CH 2K8. In order to get CH 2K8 run at 1080p you have to uncheck 720p and 1080i. Just letting you know incase you wonder why it doesn't run at 1080p.

And there is a nice difference between 720p and 1080p in CH 2K8.

Excellent, i was confused about that but now I see what you mean.

Do you or anyone know about how I can check nicknames for PSN or is that something I simply can't know until I login?

The XMB menu which is like the Xbox dashboard.

It's a pain to do sometimes switching between the resolution but that's how it is. Fortunately though it looks good as with the 360 it just converts it to 1080p while CH 2K8 is made in 1080p for the PS3.

Can you just set it to 1080p and uncheck all the others and never mess with it again?

No, because some games don't support 1080p and it will than just convert it to 480p... most of the older ones anyway. But the newer games like NBA 2K8, MGS, GTA IV support 1080p. The newer games seem to be supporting 1080p.

I usually leave it set at all four and only switch to 1080p for a few select games.

No it doesn't.

COD 4, CH 2K8, and GTA IV all support 1080p and run smoothly but both will run at 720p unless you switch. I don't understand why but that is how the developers chose it.

NBA 08 runs at 1080p without making adjustments so it depends on the developer.

So I wanted to know. Thanks also goes out to ExtremeGamer as he told me to get this over the Sony Bravia XBR. I probably saved at least $1,500.

From what I heard and researched, this Samsung is just as good, if not better.

BTW, I love the new ABT electronics store in Glenview. Damn that store is sick!
