I may give that a try Jistic. It sounds like what I need to do.

Do you still enjoy your games on that 50" Sony HDTV?

For sure! It was a lemon at first. But they replaced the gut of the TV and it's been a champ ever since.

Although.....those LED's are looking good. No too soon. Maybe a few more years.

That's funny because my 67" had the same issue right after I bought it too, they had to replace the motherboard in it and it's worked fine every since. I still got my 50" samsung in my bedroom and it's going strong.

Those LEDs do look great but i'm done with buying tv's for a long time I think. I don't want to end up buying tv's and then not using them like i do games, LOL!!

Well guys it is a combination of things. First my dad only has a 360 and we try and figure out what games will be cool to play against one another. So he was talking about getting a baseball game. Then MLB2k9 was coming out soon at that point. So we choose it.

But I also have The Show 08 so I figured if I needed my baseball fix I could just play the last year one. But being that I am not a huge baseball fan the 08 version is really all I need.
            gotcha
i am that way with hockey games.
i'll find an older one and run with it for a few years.
ready to do it with NHL 08

Well, I've made up mind for how I buy games in the future.

Since I mostly play sports games, I am now going to wait until all patches for the game have been released before I consider buying a game. I just refuse to pay full price for a game that isn't complete anymore.

When I get to the point that I have too many games, it begins to feel like a chore or job to rotate through them. I play about 2-3 hours a week on average.

Right now, I'm playing L4D2, Madden 10, and occasionaly Halo ODST and thats it. If I had the time, I'd get AC2 and MW2, but I don't.

I'm about to solve this problem. All those games I listed a few pages back? I'm gonna trade in all of them (32 games?), plus my console, plus 5 controllers, Live Vision Cam, Chatpad, guitar controller, and cash them all in for PS3 games. I don't play them, and all my friends are on PS3. I'll let y'all know how much I get, and what I use it on.....

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

So I just got back from Gamestop (don't go there to trade stuff in on Black Friday.... Bad idea)

They wouldn't take my console because the sticker that voids the warranty was gone. Which is messed because Microsoft were the last ones to open my 360, and they're supposed to replace the sticker. I will be contacting them very soon about this.

Anyway, with my edge card and their trade-in promotions, I got $419.00 for all my 360 games. Thought about getting a Wii, but just blew it all on 12 PS3 games. They were running a "Buy 2 used games, get 1 free" promotion. So I copped the following:

Dragon Age: Origins (New, no used were available)
Fight Night Round 4 (New, Had it on 360, still good)
                      God of War Collection (New)
                      Madden 10 (Had on 360)
                      NBA 2K10 (Had on 360)
                      Metal Gear Solid 4
                      Uncharted 2
                      Infamous
                      Resident Evil 5
                      Batman: Arkham Asylum
                      Demon's Souls
                      Need For Speed: Shift

Not bad for a bunch of 360 games I rarely played, especially since I replaced the only ones that I actually did play and got some new ish I've been dying to play. Still kind of feel that with that much trade-in though, I should have got a Wii. Whatever, I'll get my 360 issue resolved and trade that for a Wii probably in the future. But in the end, all this really does is give me the same problem I had before, but I'm ok with it considering that I feel like these are all much higher quality titles than the ones I had before.

Excuse me, I must dig into Dragon Age now........

Too bad about them not taking your 360. Sounds like you did OK on the game trade-ins; that 40% extra really helps.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing as I got an E68 error on my 360 (thought it was RROD but it's not) and that's not covered under warranty so I'd have to shell out over $100 to get it fixed. I'd rather just trade the thing in (it works fine when the HDD isn't installed) and put the money towards a PS3.

I got a lot of games, around 37 of them....but I beat 98% of them already....currently playing Assassins creed 2 and just bought Dragon Age today for $35.
