I don't have time to play that many games lol I still have Forza sitting without much play, I'm trying to avoid buying games I won't play right at that time now.

Me too. Why pay top dollar for a game to sit opened? Save a lot of money that way as the prices usually drop fast.

I rotate which games I play. I usually don't spend more than 2-3 hours on a title unless I'm really into it, which in turn helps me from getting burnt out on a game.

I have a few games I've never played at all or only once or twice. But when I get into a gaming lull I always throw those in first, followed by games I haven't beaten yet.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

so far this year I got Mass Effect 2 and Darksiders. Darksiders didn't grab me, not that it's a bad game but just not for me right now.

Mass Effect 2, what can I say? It's just awesome.

As for upcoming stuff, I'll be getting the Dragon Age expansion, Awakening, when that drops in mid March. Then Super Street Fighter IV and the Halo Reach beta in April and with all of that I'll be set until the fall.

edit: forgot to mention I'll also be getting the Borderlands expansion, The Secret Fort of General Knoxx, whenever that comes out. Also, if Perfect Dark and Quake III Arena come out for XBL Arcade anytime soon, I'll probably get those as well.

In the last 1.5 years I have slowed down a lot on the game purchases......I used to be really bad at one point spending way too much money on videogames. Like this month there are a few releases that I want to jump on, ie. Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, and Heavy Rain. I am just going to go with Heavy Rain.....but then it kind of sucks for March as God of War 3 and MLB10 come out within weeks. I think that Sony should have spaced out their releases a bit this spring. They continue to make stupid mistakes and I wouldn't think that scheduling would be one.......but I guess it is. God of War would have been great for April release and even Yakuza 3 which is niche would have been better for April or May. Oh well. LOL!

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

Sometimes I feel I buy too many games, but theres not much that comes out between April to August. With a few titles in September and October and then the big boom between November to March. So I don't mind stocking up now since theres only 3 games I plan on buying in the April to September cycle.

There were a few "big hit" titles that I skipped on though, I stopped buying sports titles for the most part, I have always pre-ordered NCAA Football but I held off on that until September. I didn't get Batman: Arkham Asylum. and I held off a month on MW2 and AC2. I could probably cut down that list of games to get in the future to five.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I've bought a heck of a lot of games over the past 6 months. Way more than I would normally buy in 2 or 3 years time. Used to, I would buy a game play it 4-5 months (maybe more) then get another game. Now, I have probably 5 games that I've had for over a month that I haven't even played yet. And the games that I have played I would only play for maybe a month, then I would move on to the next before I really got to enjoy it.

So, my plan as of now is to only purchase the games I really, really want this year. So as of now the only games, I know that I'm getting is The Show 10, UFC Undisputed 10, NCAA 11, Madden 11 and Batman AA 2 (when it comes out). I may look into Red Dead Redemption and an NBA game as well but, that's about it.

The only game I know for certain I am buying this year is UFC 2010.

Unless things change, I will be sticking with Madden 10, NHL 10 and NBA Live 10, as I've decided to adopt an every-other-year approach to buying sports games.
